Rape is also when someone over 18 has sex with someone over 18 against their will.

My cousin is 21, going on 22 in August. He is going out with a girl that just turned 16 in January!

I see nothing wrong with a 21 year old going out with a 16 year old. The important thing to consider is the guy's conduct, not age. Also keep in mind that the OP says that he is only going out with her. I may be a little old fashioned, but sex isn't part of the definition of the word "date".

Ok im thinking sex because around here if your going out with a girl your banging her, and if he is doing that then well he goes to jail. lots of problems for him then. and seriously who cares about a relationship, shes young anyway.

It depends on the two individuals and if the parents are ok with it.

I for one was 17 when I started dating this guy who was 22 and it worked out for us for years.

I wouldnt want my 16 year old daughter, sister, whatever dating a 21 year old, dont get me wrong, I dont care when somebody dates a person 6 years younger than them, but when it's that young it is very wierd/wrong. Maybe if she was 20 and he was 26 it would be different, but she's what? In grade 10, and he should be done highschool, done college, and working a fulltime job, have his license, he's probably had sex, he is old enough to drink/smoke, has friends his age (Or older) doesnt liuve with parents, pays taxes, goes to parties with friends, has roommates.

She what? maybe has her license (Not even full) and is doing sinusoidal functions in math? Yeah, he's far too mature for her.

I am just telling you that there is a bigger world out there and that you should really work in modifying your views on it, because they are rather cynical and uninformed. If anyone is crashing on your party, is yourself. You are a child, but to your country you are an adult and you will be treated like one, and your views won't get you very far outside of your parties and little universe.

I do all that and more. But going out on the weekends does not make you cool nor does it make you mature. You really need to grow up some - and I am not talking about adding age - I'm talking about expanding your world, your education, and your views.

You "knowing" how to have fun has nothing to do with your maturity level, which you have clearly demonstrated to be lacking.
