What is it about Quebec that gives it that notorious reputation? I've never been to the place but worked under an immigrant from there and damn, I wish I never crossed paths with that dipshit.

It's funny you should say that as it resonated with how Gazans view themselves likewise in outrageous contexts.

Gaza man, you gotta get outta there. You should start a fund. I'd donate.

I think you'd love travel. More than most I think you'd be amused and interested by various cultures.

Don't tantalize me rabbit :( I'd start a fund but I wouldn't want to prostitute myself. Then there are the issues of acquiring the required permits and crossing the borders. I haven't given up though, I'm still on it.

I know I'll love travel. What's more is that I know it'll change me in ways I can't possibly anticipate. For now, let us persevere.

@thegerg: Remember that I didn't say any of this and all of it are quotes from other websites.

"I think London itself is a town, adjoining the city of Westminster. There are no states in the UK, as we are a monarchy- but we are divided into counties."

"London is a town"

"London is both a county and a town"

They are only a small portion of them :D

@thegerg: Sorry I used the wrong terminology on the first post. I only meant posts on the subject which you cannot reply too. Also there weren't many arguments for why people believe that it is not a city just opinions without much reasoning. I don't know if I am allowed to send links on here so I will just leave it as that as the moment..

Canada can easily be divided in two: Quebec and everyone else.

Texas has far more diverse cities than Canada actually. Houston is considered to be the most racially and ethnically diverse cities in the u.s

A Gaza residents permitted to travel for Hajj?

We're permitted but not without grueling difficulties. Again this has to do with both the proper permits AND borders crossing. Israel keeps an iron fist on the borders that's tightened and relaxed subject to the whims of borders control police. After Hamas' stunt with the shit brotherhood in Egypt and its reliance on tunnel economy to support its coup for years, the Egyptian port of entry is de facto nonoperational. But again, the Egyptian borders have always been peripheral to Gaza; our main ports of entry lie on the Israeli borders (Eretz, Kerem Shalom...etc).

On a slightly different note, going to Hajj is more complicated than just packing and heading to Mecca in the pilgrimage season. Saudi Arabia has to enforce a quotas regime to ensure the relevant religious venues remain within their capacity in order to avoid stampedes. Each country has a quota that's proportionate to its Muslim population and authorities there issue permits on a first-come first-served basis.

Goddamn, once again, that resonates with Gaza's status among us Palestinians - I'm starting to observe a pattern here. I've noticed that all of the Palestinian Canadians I met either reside in Quebec or lived there for a while. Coincidence?

How is Houston the most diverse city in the country? It's basically whites, blacks, and Mexicans. NYC has more evenly distributed racial demographics, and it also has people from almost every country on Earth, I'm sure.

Seattle. And I'm the one who makes it the rudest city I've ever visited! I shudder to think how many tourists I've honked at, cursed at and tailgated while they were looking in vain for parking near the Space Needle.

NYC and CT. Most of the people in the eastern area is full of douchebags. And I gotten used to that fact.

And I actually gone to egypt 4 times, and the people there are actually quite nice to me, it is probably because I have an egyptian background :P .

But yeah I would say east coast are mostly full of rude people, but around west is actually full of nice people - I have been to cali before, and people there are so friendly.

Huh. I visited Seattle a few times. I've been tailgated a few times. Are you sure you're not the one I gave a middle finger-salute to? ;)

Meh. Probably not. Those people backed off. I also told my kid to open up the shiny (reflective) car shade in the back glass. The guy backed off in a hurry. Ha Ha!

I don't think I have been to a city with a over abundance of rude people. I was surprised how nice most people where in NYC outside of the tourist trap mob that is Times Square at least.

I've heard the French are rude in Paris but not so much in the other cities. It probably has to do with the massive tourism industry in Paris. I'm sure locals are outnumbered by tourists in many areas in Paris on a regular basis.

Dude, I live in Dubai where tourists and expats are 100x more than the local population here. Locals constitute only about 20% of the entire population. I've never heard anyone complain that the locals here are as rude as what I've seen from the French in Paris.

It's because some of the French have a superiority complex about their culture. They're also just nationalistic in general.

@-spiritfall-: I don't know about that. I grew up in Boston, and I don't mean 2 hours outside of Boston, literally in the city, and there is a reason they call us massholes. If you ever traveled to another state, like Maine or Vermont, or especially down South, people are FAR more friendly than Bostonians.

In my opinion I can't tell if it's Hong Kong or Shenzhen. I can only understand what our tour guide was saying but I have a feeling every Chinese person there is talking trash about foreigners around them and their service isn't very good.

I think the better question is, what city have you had the most rudest experiences in? If you ask any city resident about their city, they'll all say the same thing: "yeah this city is great, nice people, good food". You can say the same about almost every city.
