This is heavy, Doc.
This is heavy, Doc.

October 21st, 2015. The date Marty McFly arrives in the wonderful world of tomorrow filled with amazing technology that excites the imagination. Too bad a vast majority of the technology and events have yet to come true. There are no flying cars, no self-drying jackets, no power-lacing shoes , no Mr Fusions, no Jaws 19, Chicago Cubs still without a World Championship, etc. Oh, and lets not forget the most important item, hoverboards. Yep, 2015 and yet no hoverboads. Now, I know what you are going to say: "What about the one Tony Hawk rode or the one Lexus created?" They aren't the same as the BttF version as they aren't mass produced or are easily available. Besides, they work under specific situations.

At least we still have about 20 days left for many of these things to become reality. Fingers crossed.

This wasn’t the first time that the Nike Mag was sold to the public. Back in 2011, Nike released the glowing and self-lacing shoes, but on a limited edition basis. Only 1,500 pairs were auctioned off on eBay with proceeds going to Michael J. Fox’s Foundation for Parkinson’s research. After that, the Nike Mag went under the radar.

@metalman0616: It has been a while, but if you are who I think you are, welcome back! It has been a while since we talked.

@crimsonbrute: That is a fair point.

Blasphemy I say. I say they are documentaries on the same line as Dr. Who.

@horgen: vgm007, who he says he is in his signature.

There was a fellow named that (or similar, I do not remember the numbers) who was a regular at Roll Call.

@horgen: I probably did, but back then I constantly rotated it. I think I'll settle on Keima Katsuragi for now.

@The_Zoid: Don't ask me; this is the first time I've posted here in five years. But looking at that "Top Posters" list is giving me flashbacks to the glory days of RC. Something tells me they went off to greener pastures.

@dave123321: I see. I already recognize you and several other people. The place is still alive to my surprise. Did they just entirely scrap unions and personal boards?

Avatar image for dave123321

Unions were effectively done away with and some of them became boards by request.

*Fumbles around in the dark and finally finds another spare Phoenix Down.*

Aaaaand, revived. Hopefully people here are happy to see me back. Meh, realized this site is a site I can never truly leave for good, while limited, still some good users and a few good friends I got here. While it saddens me Korvus decided to leave for good, I also realized I shouldn't let his departure dampen my spirits enough for me to leave here along with him. Sorry if I scared anyone or dampened other's spirits when I also went out and considered leaving here about a month back. Hopefully this won't happen again. I don't think it should. I had some good times on this site, even though its seen far better days currently, one of the reasons I still like coming here is for nostalgic reasons.

Anyway, awesome new RC theme. I don't mean to bring negativity here by saying this, but considering how lacking we are in these great new technologies and innovations right now, sadly I think this is one of the reasons where 2015 in this reality, unfortunately feels to me like it wound up being more like the dystopian alternate 1985.

@dave123321: probably most of those who were in the unions that are gone,I don't feel too much regret in removing Nintendo Galaxy except that I forgot to move a grand story I wrote myself in there to my personal blog.

Hmm, I seem to have traveled a lot this year. Let's see... I went to DC and New York in April, Boston last month, and now I'll be going to San Francisco in December. I'm really looking forward to the latter.

@metalman0616:

About to head to work. I'm a paraeducator. Basically, when all of the substitutes in my district are gone, I am shuttled around on a helicopter and "parachute" in to the school that needs me...

In all seriousness though, I work with one student in particular who needs specific and additional instruction. Hopefully today goes smoothly. And he's not grumpy. lol

Yourself?

@battlefront23: Pretty good. Sounds like quite a job lol. I work as a computer programmer, but not much happening right now. You could say I'm stuck in a holding pattern waiting for something to happen.

Avatar image for battlefront23

@metalman0616:

I've had quite a few computer programmer friends. To be frank, I'm very noobish with anything science related, aside the humanities.

@battlefront23: I've known quite a few people like that. Unfortunately I often get the stereotypical "fix my computer please" questions from them. I may be good with software, but I'm not a repairman. >_>

Avatar image for battlefront23

@metalman0616: You mean you don't bow to the beck and whim of anyone who needs repair? But you CHOSE to work as a programmer... :P

@metalman0616: Peace out man. Off to work. Hope Mr. Green isn't an... annoying little brat. (I'd use other words, however, he is, in fact, a child lol)

Avatar image for metalman0616

@battlefront23: Don't get me wrong, I'll do it if it only means a day's work, if it belongs to a good friend, and I get paid a small fee for my service. I just don't like the stereotype. Programmer != tech support (most of the time).
