I'm late, I know.

I just watched Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, and WOW, am I not disappointed.
The first 40 minutes or so were underwhelming but the film quickly kicked into high gear and by the second half it almost propelled itself to the heights of the original saga.

Simply put, it was amazing.

Two scenes in particular stand out: the scene where "Order 66" is shown to be carried out, and Obi Wan's duel with Anakin / Vader.
The scene where Anakin is outfitted with his Vader suit is also astounding and would be perfect.. if not for the "Nooooooo!" gasped by Vader when he learns of Padme's death. That "noooo" was ridiculous.

All in all, a superb movie; miles ahead of its two crappy predecessors. It is flawed, yes, but superb nonetheless; although I think the nostalgia factor / tying into episode IV (a New Hope) makes it better for those of us who saw the originals.

Oh, and Ewan McGregor deserves an award and a pat on the back just for the scene where he confronts Vader.

McGregor is fantastic at acting, but George Lucas needs to learn when to end on a high note. That is, Return of the Jedi should not have been made.

I'd say it's probably the 3rd best Star Wars movie behind The Empire Strikes Back and A New Hope.

I actually just saw it recently too, I thought it was pretty good.  Quite cheesy at some parts though.  Like the "Anakin you're breaking my heart!" line and of course the "Noooooooooooooo.......!"

The "Noooo" actually made me laugh. I'd have loved to see it at the cinema, I bet the audience would have had exactly the same reaction. The acting wan't nearly as wooden as in the two previous films (what's up with Lucas anyway? What is it about him that makes actors shove planks up their ass?), but still: "Anakin you're breaking my heart" is nothing compared to this: Anakin: "You're so beautiful" Padme: "Only because I'm so in love with you" Anakin: "No, it's only because I'm so in love with you" Me: Man, oh, man.

I actually didn't mind "Noooooooo" that much. The one serious thing that pissed me off about about the movie was how Padme simply "lost the will to live."

Jesus Christ. That's cheesy enough as it is, but she just had two babies.

It's like, she has the babies and names them, then she's like "okay, now that that's over, I'll go ahead and die now. You guys take these two little bastards and do what you will with them."

:|

Lame.

Jesus, Anakin just made her strangle herself about 10 minutes earlier. The least they could do is make Padme die from the injuries inflicted by Anakin.

But that's my one big complaint about the movie. Everything else was great. Revenge of the Sith wasn't up to Empire Strikes back Standards, but it was DEFINITELY better than Return of the Jedi, and on par with the original Star Wars.

Wow.. You're like a friend of mine who hasn't seen them either.. Seriously, it's a mistake not to see at least the original trilogy. Star Wars is a classic of cinematic history, and influential to the point that the Star Wars saga is now actually deeply embedded in every aspect of Western culture! How can you not see something like this? How can you not see the films that are so pivotal and ground-breaking that they changed the history of cinema, entertainment and popular culture forever?

Apparently they're making a TV show that should cover the 18-year or so timespan between Revenge of the Sith and a New Hope. Apparently. Not sure if it's true though.

No, not watching the Empire Strikes Back you're really missing something, just like you're really missing something not listening to Hendrix's version of All Along the Watchtower.

Like I said, I'm late :P. Anyway I also noticed that Episode III has a great amount of symbolism and historical references/political satire, some of which is really well done (unlike the dialogue.. or some of the acting. Except for Ewan McGregor, who was amazing).

I don't know if you've seen this already but it's hilarious:

Darth Vader calls the Emperor

Is it Seth McFarlane doing the voice? It sounds a lot like Quagmire from Family Guy.
