People, whats wrong with drinking and getting drunk?

What is wrong with drinking, sure it might taste bad, but besides forcing that down. What maked drinking bad? According to the bible, being a drunk isa sin. I ask why, its only natural for humans to like to be drunk, it feels good to us. Why does society frown upon being drunk in public? Alcohol is just a drink that has some nice side effects. Why does society have to go out and bash it? What has happened in human history that made us this way?

Well, when I drink I get depressed/suicidal/freak out so it's not good for me to get trashed, not to mention I can barely afford it.

Apart from that it's sweet. Throwing up when drunk is the best feeling.

The negatives of alcohol far outweigh the benefits it possesses, and so it has been deemed haram. There is nothing wrong with using rubbing alcohol or use in any practice, but drinking it is strictly taboo.

Obey the law and obey the Golden Rule when drinking. Don't be a jerk if you drink a lot.

There is nothing wrong with drinking. However, as far as how much to drink, depends on the person. I have a friend that is partially Native American, and he had to stop drinking altogether. The more he drank, the more he wanted to drink, causing him to blackout very quickly and act like an ass. Other friends can drink all night and barely feel it.

However, I am against drinking TO get drunk, because I think that's stupid. If you don't enjoy the taste, which obviously you don't, then you shouldn't.

One could drink at home if intending to get drunk so one doesn't have to drive when 3 sheets to the wind or just having one or 2 drinks over the course of dinner when eating out or calling a cab if one has drank enough to be impaired while driving.

There are benefits from drinking red wine in moderation. Now if you drink rubbing alcohol, you will have bigger problems than what drinking beer, wine or liquor will cause.

Nothing. I personally don't drink alcohol but I have nothing against people who do. :)

It's not natural to be drunk. If you have a lame enough life that you need to use alcohol to make you feel better go for it. It's up to you.

The reasons I don't drink and never will

1. Drinking and Driving kills people or cripples them for life. One of my good friends daughter was crushed by a drunk driver.

2. I don't consider drinking a good time. I would rather be myself and have the coherency to remember moments in my life.

3. I don't wanna waste money on something that gives me a hangover.

4. I don't want to become addicted to something and have my life get f'ed over.

How is that even a question? Oh and the bible doesnt say its a sin to drink.. Only to get drunk..00-Riddick-00

Nothing. Nothing at all.

I don't know many people at all who frown upon drinking. In all honesty, it's just plain fun, and can be enjoyed in moderation with no serious consequences.
