All but three Republicans voted down Obama's stimulus which funded those loan guarantees to Solyndra(and those three were in the senate), so how could they POSSIBLY be to blame?
Sounds a bit silly to me.

I dont know who that guy is that wrote the article but he basically said Obama is a liar. Anyways instead of subsidizing corporations the money would of been better spent in academic research for advancment of energy technology.DaBrainz
Obama is a liar, on this point. The Republicans are blameless for what happened to Solyndra. He's just playing the blame game.
to be fair Solyndra was being funded by the Bush administration before the Obama admin, but I hardly consider more money being given to the company as a reason for Solyndra going bankrupt. I don't really see either administration shouldering the blame for the bankruptcy of this particular company so much as I see the idiocy of the company itself.
Just heard an RNC ad that calls Obama out.
Why would he make such a blatantly false statement? On NPR, no less, when we already know who voted for the stimulus and have known for years.
The Bush administration started the program for the energy department to give subsidies and loans to various companies and one of the 16 or so happen to be Solyndra. Obama accelerated the program.to be fair Solyndra was being funded by the Bush administration before the Obama admin, but I hardly consider more money being given to the company as a reason for Solyndra going bankrupt. No, the Bush administration made the loan guarantees but it wasn't funded until the stimulus passed.

There were also red flags thrown up by staffers in the Bush AND Obama administrations.... which were completely ignored.[QUOTE="Serraph105"]The Bush administration started the program for the energy department to give subsidies and loans to various companies and one of the 16 or so happen to be Solyndra. Republicans are hardly blameless with Solyndra. The whole fiasco began under Bush. And the investors behind Solyndra contributed heavily to both Democrat and Republican campaigns. Both sides get to shoulder the blame for this one.
He should be blaming the chinese. they've had less than fair practices when it comes to solar panels.
Heard recently that they're slapping import fees just for that reason. He should be blaming the chinese. they've had less than fair practices when it comes to solar panels.

[QUOTE="sonicare"]Heard recently that they're slapping import fees just for that reason. about time....I don't want hinder other countries from doing business with us, but if they don't want to play fair then we should at least even the odds.He should be blaming the chinese. they've had less than fair practices when it comes to solar panels.

Come on Shocker. You know nothing bad is EVER Slappy Obammy's fault. The guys automatic reaction to ANY criticism is "Don't blame me. I inherited this bad situation, don't ya know." I swear the guy is an irresponsible teenager walking around in a man's body. Nothing is ever his fault. He's always just a victim of circumstance.collegeboy64
Agreed. Dude is giving politicians a bad name.
[QUOTE="DroidPhysX"][QUOTE="sonicare"]Heard recently that they're slapping import fees just for that reason. Its just going to make things more expensive for the poor and middle class in the US. Not necessarily. We're talking specifically about solar panels. More companies = more competition which usually accelerates improvements in quality and affordability. A monopoly created by manipulating the markets unfairly is not going to result in more longterm savings. He should be blaming the chinese. they've had less than fair practices when it comes to solar panels.

Poor people and middle-class people can't afford solar panels currently.DaBrainzI keep hearing about a company on the radio that installs the solar panels and pays for them (but, obviously, own them) and you pay them a monthly fee in place of your electric bill.
Solar panals are an important investment.
I'm sure despite the company going under we got some good tech out of it.

"Obama rightly notes that Congress created with bipartisan support an Energy Department loan guarantee program for clean energy start-ups in 2005, during the George W. Bush administration.
However, he incorrectly suggests Solyndra received its financing from that 2005 appropriation of funds. Instead, the company's $500 million in fast-tracked loan guarantees came from a new section of the program created by the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, also known as the stimulus. The Recovery Act did not receive any GOP votes."
Thus it seems that Solyndra was not funded under the Bush administration.
Don't know about any tech, but its for damn sure Barry got some killer cash campaign donations out of it. And in the end isn't that all we should care about. That it benefitted our Dear Leader.Solar panals are an important investment.

Hits the spot right now. Should get something nice for the weekend. Got a bonus during my review the other day so it'll be CORPORATE FUNDED (just like Obama's whole presidency, just to stay on topic, you understand).
Well I guess the blame for the company going bankrupt should fall on the company, not any President (they didn't make it go bankrupt). But I think the criticism of the President is that heloaned money to a company that went bankrupt and now we won't get that money back.to be fair Solyndra was being funded by the Bush administration before the Obama admin, but I hardly consider more money being given to the company as a reason for Solyndra going bankrupt. They all blame eachother for everything, they all act like little kids. I find it odd that the main goal of the Republican Party seems to be kicking Obama out of office, they don't talk about anything else.
