[QUOTE="markop2003"]I sometimes do as i don't know them and they're personality. Sort of like how you're not a good friend of someone if you've only just met them or only talk to them once a year. Levels don't matter but a good amount of quality posts and maybe a good blog are needed for me to respect a user.Meeeko

Dangit man, my life is too boring to write of a decent blog.

But you've had a good amount of good posts and that first thread you made was good. Post count has more to do with how many posts you've made recently to me more than your total posts.

Im suspicious of new users, because a lot of them might be ban dodgers. When A guy joins randomly and starts talking about events that took place 3 years ago, you gotta wonder. Lurking for 3 years without ever making a topic? :?II_Seraphim_II

[QUOTE="jointed"] If you're going by the TC's standards then yeah. But having lots of posts and a high level does not make one a veteran. They're sometimes indicators though.

High level is a pretty good indicator ;) Posts isn't that good... Also on how I look at them. Its kinda like first time you meet a person. I get a first impression from reading a few posts they have made.. It might a bad first impression or a good impression, depends on the post [QUOTE="Dark__Link"] I feel sorry for you. :(

Well, not really. If you're moderated you loose level points and these points are pretty easy to acquire. Just add a bunch of games to your game collection and use the site's features as much as you can.

Generally, I don't mind new posters. But I do mind them in System Wars....mainly because the low-levels posters are the ones posting flame-bait threads, rehashing old, tired arguments.

IMO, there should be a minimum level you need to be before being allowed to post in SW.

horgen123

Wouldn't that remove like half the people who are posting there? :P

We could only hope! :D

I'm not going to enter the poll, because I don't think it's people looking down, I think it's a matter of trust. People are more likely to trust other users with higher levels, good avatars, good signatures, etc.

Of course. My point, however, is that being active on the boards is not necessary to raise your level.

High level means you have atleast spend some time here... Like being level 30 means you have atleast been here one year, level 40something means atleast two years. So a highlevel user must have been here for some time. Ofcourse for admins here this doesn't count :P

Ok, let's just say a veteran user is someone who's been here for at least 3 years, or has a high level or post count. Also they could be someone who posts a lot around Gamespot and is well known. I probably should have explained that before... My bad.

I don't look down on newer users, but I may just not notice them as much. I guess I just get used to looking for certain familiar poster. However, I don't discredit someone because of their level or post count.
