The Exorcist was more funny than scary.

Audition and High Tension really made me feel uneasy.

I'd say Saw, Nightmare on Elm Street, or Final Destination.

It has been the only movie to scare me.

The Shining creeped me out though.

How was Paranormal Activity be scary? That was the biggest waste of money ever, movie was boring from start to finish.

There is no such thing as a scary movie, there are only people who get scared of a movie, which is completely different.

The only movie which I find remotely scary is the original Exorcist, nothing more.. Those Japanese horror films are scary too but it doesn't leave a lasting effect..

I was quite recently creeped out by Lost Highway but it's more of a mystery/thriller flick rather than a pure horror movie. One of the best horror movies I've seen though is The Thing by John Carpenter but it didn't really scare me all that much and I was also quite pleasantly surprised by last years Orphan.

I don't really watch that many horror films, but I remember being fairly freaked out after The Exorcist. We had a thunderstorm that night and I was certain the devil was in the attic :P

You're drifting off course.

Fear is an emotion, and each person has their own understanding of it.

Oxygen, though it's not... well, not quite solid, not a material, it is something living creatures share.

You really are comparing two different things, so that's a no win for you.

And why do you argue with all my posts? Do you hate me for some reason? :D

I would put The Exorcism of Emily Rose and The Orphanage at a tie for most scary film I've seen. They weren't really so freaky-scary, but they had this creepy like effect that kept me glued to the seat after the movie was done ( The Orphanage kinda made me cry a little, too ). The Ring was also pretty scary for me, but I watched the American version. I tried watching the Japanese but for some reason I didn't like the way they acted.

A friend and my dad, both who love the horror genre told me to watch The Changeling though, since they agreed that it was their scariest movie. I'm still looking for a copy of that.

It's called cause and effect. The effect? People get scared. The cause? Something they found scary in a movie. If you don't believe it's scary, that's a difference of opinion, because obviously the movie contained something that other people could interpret as terrifying or whatever. Saying there is no such thing as a scary movie just because you don't find it to be particularly scary yourself is just silly.

The only movie that frightened me was The Grudge. I know it's a re-make, and honestly I wasn't frightened while watching it but after the credits rolled I could not keep parts of that film out of my mind. The noise that is made, the under the sheets part and the attic scene just will not leave my subconscious.

The Grudge still gives me nightmares to this day. I saw first saw it when it first came out on DVD, never again!

EDIT: Someone mentioned disturbing, the most disturbing movie I have heard of (would never see it) is Centipede Man. A friend described it to me after seeing it, holy hell what's wrong with people!

The very ending is the scariest part. I'm a scary movie fanatic, but that ending gave me chills.

tell me what happens.
