Probably been done before but thought this would be fun.
Name any song you feel is epic and tell why.
Off the top of my head I would have to say "I remember you" by Skid Row.

In my collection, probably White Walls by Between the Buried and Me. 14 minutes, takes many twists and turns with always a constant sense of build-up, to where there's about a minute of just repeating "get out of this closed off circle" in a really foreboding way, until the crushing riffs and grows resume with probably one of my favorite solos
If not that then maybe The Last Baron by Mastodon, or Lateralus/Parabola by Tool
Grr too many :P

Really? That is actually interesting...and a little sad...:PFor me, its Time To Pretend by MGMT :) no other song has the effect on me that this has.

As for me, they might not be my favorite songs but they are epic non the less and those songs are...
The Sprawl or Cross the Breeze- Sonic Youth
These songs are legendary classics that are epic because of how advance and amazing they were for its time.
or
Quiet-The Smashing Pumpkins
This song is alternative confined into one song. The drumming and the guitar are so well crafted, its just an amazing piece of music.
Just listening to 2pac-Changes Its epic, just really thought provoking, great beat, true lyrics, never gets old. Mkavanaugh77

An Epic Age by Immediate Music.
I don't even need to explain why.

The original, non-choir Serenata is much better. I'm shocked that Immediate Music have only been mentioned twice... OT doesn't seem to know what epic means.
As well as Immediate Music, I'm going to add Two Steps From Hell, Globus, Future World Music and E S Posthumus. Unbeatable, as far as epicness is concerned.
Bohemian Rhapsody or the Prophet song by Queen.
jaredcsimpson
Bohemian Rhapsody for sure, Freddie Mercury was one of the best vocalists/performers of all time IMO. He just put a lot of emotion in his singing and performing, and it showed. RIP Farrokh.
