I'm all for a proper investigations and such. The problem with the court of public opinion, is the public is generally incredibly dumb and usually does not have enough information to make an informed judgement. So f the public's opinions.

But as for sexual harassment, the trouble is that much of it is not the clear cut stuff we see with people like Harvey Weinstein. In that case, what he did was clearly wrong. But a lot of it is more subtle and can often be a misunderstanding or a difference of opinion between two people. Look at the Aziz Ansari case for example. That could go either way.
