at the moment i prefer my mum's surnam;my current last name is haghani ,and i've heard US has been fighting a terrorist group named haghanis for the recent few months and i don't think i'm going to get treated well if i ever want to visit any european country.

to be fair i have only seen it a few time in my entire life and never once had to spell it, and it is not my name, its my mom's madien name.
OK, I know what a maiden name is, but does someone want to explain mating name? Is that the name one has when having sex?:shock:

the first mating name is what your other has given you as a pet name, the second mating name is what your other calls you durring sex, and your last mating name is your others safety word.
But I prefer my father's last name. I've yet to meet (and can't think of seeing) anyone outside my family with my last name. I think it's varied from it's original spelling in Italy.
I like my last name (thus my father's) just fine. Not too keen on my mother's maiden name. Not sure if she has a mating name though. Don't think I want to know actually.
Maiden name bro and my mothers last name was better than my fathers just like my grandmothers last name was better than my grandfathers. Maybe one day I too can wreck some poor girls last name...

Well, if my great grandfather didnt change his name before coming to america, id have said my mother's last name for sure, but Hayes is pretty good. Would have been Lechner.
