1) Mac, Apple products (iphone), Steve Jobs

2) Windows, Bill Gates , Xbox 360

3) The constituion that helped model other countries governments

4) Walmart, Bestbuy

5) Many more things that were made in America

If America didn't ship these products to your home country how would yall get by in life? Could yall live without our American products?

Tech-Man08

1) I hate mac and apple so screw that

2) If Bill Gates hadn't got rich off running a computer buisness, someone else from another country would have at some point. (same argument can be applied to mac)

3) Oh, really? I live in Britain, our government has been around since long before your's the only governments the US has modelled are the ones of countries it has attacked.

4) WTF? There is no walmart or bestbuy outside the US afaik, I have certainly never seen one.

5) Most of those could have the above applied to them anyway, other countries have made better things:

England: -The world wide web was invented by us
- Steam Engine, Jet Engine
- Sandwiches
-The LIGHT BULB (Edison just got the rights to improve efficiency and market it in the US, Swan, the inventor of it was less interested in money.)
-Stainless Steel
-Smallpox Vaccine
-Tanks
-Harrier Jump Jets
- Evolution, Gravity and the periodic table

A random example, China:

- Paper and Printing
- Gunpowder
-Parachute
-Toilet Paper

It's so cool to bash a country isn't it?

Whether you can see it or not, there is alot to bash. All his points are valid criticism.

You can either choose to try ridicule his comments or actually deliver rebutals. I know, one requires you to like, actually use some effort. Its a hard life isn't it, being on the internet.

As a Canadian, I actually agree that those things are awesome. There are also several key aspects of US foreign policy that really helped the world advance post-WW2, for which I am also grateful. However, the average American does not deserve a thanks for those things. :P

I would like to take the time to thank all of the Chinese that made those American products, thank you.ElectronicMagic

And made them cost half the price of what we'd pay if they were made in America...and often half the quality, depending on the product.

Oh, and for the record, you said wal-mart or best buy is not outside of the united states:

Wal-Mart's international operations currently comprise 2,980 stores in 14 countries outside the United States.[38] According to Wal-Mart's 2006 Annual Report, the International division accounted for about 20.1% of sales.[29] There are wholly-owned operations in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Puerto Rico (although PR is part of the US, the company's operations there are managed through its international division[38]), and the UK.

With the recent 50% acquisition of UK-based mobile phone operation Carphone Warehouse's retail division, Best Buy announced that it would open branded superstores in the UK and other European countries.

Together these operate more than 1,150 stores in the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada, China, Mexico and Turkey.[2] The company's corporate headquarters are located in Richfield, Minnesota, USA (near Minneapolis). On June 26, 2007, Best Buy announced a 40% increase in its operations, with plans to operate more than 1,800 stores worldwide, including 1,400 Best Buy stores in the U.S.

Lets get this clear Americans:

The world does and will continue to take time out to thank Americans who have contributed to the world and helped humanity. There are many, many Americans who have done so, and will continue to do so for the rest of time eternal.

However, you don't live on past glories forever mate. I'm thankful for your forefathers for saving our asses in World War II, even if you were late to the fight. We're thankful for the many inventions that the elite inventors and scientists made.

But mate, you didn't fight world war II and you didn't invent nuclear powered electricity generation. Your forfathers did. Of late, America HAS done an incredible amount of harm to the world. It doesn't mean we have forgotten about what you have done. I mean, cmon man, every ANZAC day here there is a mention or two for soldiers of other nations who fought and died for our freedom, even German soldiers who just followed orders.

America is one of the world's most diverse nations. It used to be THE most diverse, but those days have long past. But thats neither here nor there. What I'm trying to say is that America has changed, and the rest of the world doesn't see the states in the same light anymore.

In the past we wanted to BE YOU. The commonwealth looked and dreamed of the lifes you lived. We wanted your technology, your peace and some of us even wanted your republic, those dirty traitors them. America WAS the west's big, successful older brother.

People don't see America like that anymore. Too many failed wars and bullcrap politics, too many broken deals from your business; making DDT in New Zealand and Australia because our governments were so desperate to please your government was a bit of a betrayal of trust, no? Spraying the troops with agent orange in Vietnam, and then apologising to American and French soldiers but then saying "NO GET BENT GO AWAY" when the ANZACS and Brits asked what the hell was going on wasn't exactly the best line of action either.

The list goes on. Sadly, bad stuff has happened and America isn't our big brother anymore, its more like our somewhat crazy uncle who is often kind and fun but occasionaly gets drunk and ruins Christmass and needs bailing out of jail in the middle of the night.

Untrue. The smart Americans are the only ones whosee flaws in their country. The TC is an axemplary example of one who is not.

However, I wold like to thankyou for buying all our American accents, and all of China's excess lead.

And you've seen all my posts? My posts suit the topic...if it calls for cynicism...they get it. I'm not...and have never been bitter, however.

This is not about intelligent patriotic Americans knowing what needs fixed.....it's about the constant bashing the US gets mostly from individuals who've never stepped foot in the country and are talking with ignorance, arrogance, and generalizations.

Quoted from Wikipedia: The World Wide Web (commonly shortened to the Web) is a system of interlinked hypertext documents accessed via the Internet. With a Web browser, a user views Web pages that may contain text, images, videos, and other multimedia and navigates between them using hyperlinks. The World Wide Web was created in 1989 by Sir Tim Berners-Lee, working at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Geneva, Switzerland and released in 1992. Since then, Berners-Lee has played an active role in guiding the development of Web standards (such as the markup languages in which Web pages are composed), and in recent years has advocated his vision of a Semantic Web.

Thank you to those individuals for those inventions.

And now you can thank Sir Alexander Fleming for the discovery Penicillin :D And then Florey and Chain for taking it to America to be mass produced. (Which was slightly more important than the invention of the the Xbox 360.)

I must say everything you mentioned besides the Constitution is by far the worst aspects of America. Capitalism at it's best and so many Americans who who praise it as the only way, and despise everything else.

Do you honestly believe it's fair for the Walton family to horde millions of dollars in their bank accounts while their workers who actually do make them rich get paid barely anything? What a great society we live in were we openly reward small amount of people while the masses actually make it happen.

It's not that everyone deserves more. It's that some people deserve less. Imagine how many problems in society we could fix if we pooled all the money from companies and organizations that have more than their share of profit. Of course this itself would create a whole new set of problems.

And that is why all forms of economic systems need to be abolished and we actually need to move towards something better. Money is such a primitive idea at this point in time.

How many Americans families have to sell themselves out to an organization that practices principles and polices they don't believe in just to get by, while the organization makes all the profit off of them. And us Americans say well that millionaire there he earned it, he was smart enough to take advantage of other people. What a joke.

There never will be equality in human societies but it could be better.

I'd like to thank America for some of the best comedies ever produced: Malcolm in the Middle, The Simpsons, Family Guy and South Park.

every single post I've seen of yours is bitter and cynical .....

the way I see it the only truly patriotic americans are the ones who see huge flaws in the country ..

LJS9502_basic

And you've seen all my posts? My posts suit the topic...if it calls for cynicism...they get it. I'm not...and have never been bitter, however.

This is not about intelligent patriotic Americans knowing what needs fixed.....it's about the constant bashing the US gets mostly from individuals who've never stepped foot in the country and are talking with ignorance, arrogance, and generalizations.

this whole post is lame.LJS9502_basic

:P

4 clicks away .. but I'm guessing you believe your own lies ?

You know you tend to seek me out to respond and argue. I haven't sought you out. You can just ignore my posts.....and I don't recall that second quote at all. Resorting to creating posts to argue with. Now I'm tired of this pointless conversation. Find someone else. Bye.

No..I've been right in this thread. There is no reason for someone who has no experience or knowledge of the US to continually bash it. It's immature and ignorant. And frankly smacks of insecurity. You want to defend haters...be my guest. But don't expect to make yourself look good doing it.

Edit; I checked this entire thead. You did add that quote in since I didn't say it here at all. You might want to reread the ToU. Some interesting info in there.;)
