HAHAHAHAHA Nolan?
Let's see...
Batman reboot = garbage (then again that was helped by having the worst Joker performance ever in the second one)
Inception = A big waste of time that stole from other better movies and pieced them together poorly
Superman = Even worse than the Batman reboot
Nolan makes crap and while he's had a hand in some good films the movies where he has most control are the worst in the bunch.
Do you like ANYTHING? Worst Joker performance ever? Yeah, he didn't win an Oscar for that performance or anything, right? And Nolan didn't even direct Man of Steel, you can "blame" that on Zack Snyder (I, for one, loved it)HAHAHAHAHA Nolan?

I loved Heath Ledger's performance, but don't underestimate how much his death had an impact on him winning.
Rants like this kind of make your opinion meaningless....HAHAHAHAHA Nolan?

Ehhh, that's not really a rant, more like bullet points
Nolan's lived off fumes for a while now and it doesn't look like he's going to change that anytime soon.
Nolan is the most overrated director ever, the guy has made only one good, unique movie. (Memento)xdude85
Insomnia?
I think Noaln is probably one of the most overrated directors, but he's also one of the most underrated. Â I think the anti-Nolan crowd gives him far too little credit. Â Maybe it's because of all the credit he gets from fans, but still.
Anyways, Coens are better than any director in the OP.
paul thomas anderson is probably my favorite active director. still, nicolas winding refn and david cronenberg are always making something interesting and i'll watch anything the coens make.LoG-SacramentAgreed

Well yeah, after Inception his fanboys started putting Nolan on this incredibly high pedestal. Lest we forget those death threats critics got for daring to give Dark Knight Rises a negative review.
yeah, scorsese is really good too. people tend to think of him for his work from mean streets to goodfellas, but i don't think his recent films are a dropoff. gangs of new york is my favorite scorsese film and the departed and shutter island are great too.Current are Scorsese and Nolan for me.Â

Yeah, I get that. Â Honestly, though, there are plenty of fanboys for any director. Â I get just about as frustrated with Nolan fanboys as I do with Tarantino fanboys. Â When I say I didn't like Inglorious Basterds all that much, or that Kill Bill is just escapist fun, or that his films have really just been sensationalist killings of historical baddies since Jackie Brown his fanboys jump down my throat, how dare I say anything negative about the great Tarantino! Groupthink surrounding a director always annoys me, I like them for the work they put forth. Â I love Tarantino's first three films because they were intimate and character-driven, I'm not as big a fan of his since. Â I love Nolan's first three films because they were meticulously crafted and suspesnful, I don't think he's been as good since. Â I'm not going to change my opinion of their early work simply because a bunch of fanboys start gushing over over-hyped blockbusters.[QUOTE="Lionheart08"]

Memento is actually one of my favorite films. It's just that the "He can do no wrong" crowd also makes his flaws more apparent for me.
In my opinion Michael Bay is one of the best directors. He's good at creating a meaningful story with interesting characters. I think a lot of people like to hate on him though just because his movies are really popular.Crunchy_NutsYou're a little late, April Fool's Day was two months ago. Michael Bay's films are good for turning your brain off and enjoying the visual effects, that's all.
I can definitely see that being true for a lot of people, he's certainly made a lot of movies that a lot of people like a great deal.
I'm personally more of a Werner Herzog fan.
I love just about all his work. I do think he suffers from convoluted plots that make for plot holes (Dark Knight Rises, Inception), but they still tend to be quite intelligent films in my opinion.

I disagree. Memento is far from his best movie. Inception is a much better movie. I even prefer Insomnia to Memento.
Christopher Nolan is a fantastic director. Inception is brilliant, Insomnia is superb.
Scorsese used to be my absolute favorite but he's past his prime, there's no way he'll ever top Goodfellas or Taxi Driver. I did enjoy The Departed though, such a great movie.
Spielberg used be one of my favorites too but again I think he's past his prime.
Tarantino is in great form, awesome director.
I really really like Woody Allen, but again his earlier work was better.
Terrence Malick directed one of the best war movies of all time IMO, The Thin Red Line.
Coppola of course, although again has done nothing lately.
Tim Burton is great too.
Too many to list.

Me? I was talking Francis Ford, not his daughter.
