Interesting Girl Help Needed (Changed OP and poll)

So yeah, some people may have seen me post about how I have gone onto okcupid.

Well, I finally got to talking to this girl today who seems really awesome. We have just seem to hit it off really well.

The issue now: She is only 16 (which age of consent is 16 here).

She will be 17 come January, but I will be 22 come November.

Now I don't think I could go through with dating her just yet, but I really don't want to just throw this opportunity away and I really fear she will get snatched up by someone else while I wait to be comfortable with her age.

Normally I wouldn't be so concerned with such a thing and just move on, but she just seems so awesome and I feel a bit lucky to have her interested in me like this. She seems like the type of girl I have been looking for but had thought might not exist. One who likes my geekiness and finds my shyness adorable.

So now I am left to try and figure out how to go about this. I want to be with her at some point I feel, but I don't think I could be comfortable dating a 16 year old.

Any ideas on how to go about the situation and what is everyones opinion on a 22 year old dating a 17 year old?

That seems fine to me anyway. A 4 year age gap is not a big deal, provided the younger of the 2 is at least 17

It's not creepy. She's 18. And you're 22... it's not like you are a 30 year old business man who is just looking to score some young, legal ass.

A lot of girls are 18 years old as a freshman in college. 22 year olds are in college as well. They often meet around campus, at local clubs that all the college students go to, etc.

Whats sad is alot of people would probably find a 25 year old dating an 18 year old to be creepier than a 40 year old dating an 18 year old.

A high school girl dating a guy ready to graduate from college is a little weird.

She's 18 whats so bad about it? It's only a 4 year difference anyway, what's creepy is this one guys parents I knew in middle school, his mom was 31 and his dad was 67, that's a lot creepier than your situation.

Maybe not the norm, but it really is not creepy... Just hopefully she is not immature.

She definitely is mature.

She has been through alot for one thing, and she flat out said she doesn't really feel she fits in with the kids at her school and doesn't talk to many people. She doesn't care about the dances and crap like that.

Not to mention we kep talking about more serious topics which is really interesting.

It's fine, she'll get more mature over time.

No, why would it be? The law where I live use to be a six year difference on people below 18. Meaning if she was 16 the oldest you could be was 22. Any older would be illegal. Or if she was 15 you could not be any older than 21. Six years was the maximum age difference for person 18 or OLDERto be sexually involvedwith a person UNDER 18. Never tried to date a woman six years younger than me when I was 22 or younger so I have no idea if that law is still in effect.
