What if there is life on it. Beings like us humans, Then i began thinking. They are probably looking at us and saying they discovered a new planet that was like theres while we look at it and say we discovered a new planet that looks like ours.

Once intelligent life is found elsewhere in the universe... most religions in general will explode.

I really am hoping we look into this new planet more closely. I think spending money on this would be much better than exploring Mars.

i do agree that the idea itself is really ....but on the other hand quite irrelevant since we dont posses the tecnology to go there much less sent a probe or a satellite....will take decades.....centuries until it gets there

Trying to find out if there is life there is definitely the way to go, seeing as (being 20 light years away) we're not likely to be able to travel to it any time soon. As for the age-old question of intelligent life out there. I fully believe that there are probably billions of other living civilizations out there, some more advanced, some less advanced, and if any of them are advanced enough to know that we're here, they probably said something like, "too primitive, petty, and ignorant", and moved on.

That would be so neat. But then knowing the world, all the nations would cause another cold war trying to beat each other to get on the planet first.

it would literally take 8 generations to get any real information from the planet because of the distance it is from us. So I would't be holding my breath on it. Anyways I am more concerned with the Swiss and their completion of the machine that will make the first worm hole. There are theories out there that if not properly contained it could suck the Earth in. They have evidence but i don't understand any of that type of stuff.  Who knows but it will be done in 2009 they predict.

Well... I meant more along the lines of more detailed observation from Earth with more powerful telescopes... but hey the wormholes could work too. :P

BEAN_LARD_MULCH

Well, that would be nice and all, but most religions would make something up to support their religious beliefs.  They would somehow come up with a theory that would only support their conclusion and in effect even "strengthen" their religion.  I **** you not.  I'm athiest BTW, but you mark my words, religion could turn this toward their favor, even if it has no basis in fact.

yup.

That'd be cool if they were, but since we are still just beginning to understand aerodynamics on our planet and we've barely done much more than land on the moon, make some space stations and satelites, and send out some satelites....we won't be drinking together anytime soon.

I wonder if they have any sort of martial arts.

Not quite lol, try we have found 350 MILLION Galaxies ranging anywhere from 200 billion to a trillion stars in each one..  Then each star has the possibility of having dozens of planets around them...

Well, I can only see them being equal or less of an intelligence, we have found them, and they could have only really done the same, because they have not made contact with us, and we have not made contact with them, hell...they could be just dinosaurs.

You can't be sure. We're not even certain if there's any lifeform at the planet, we're just guessing. And, they may be either less intelligent or more intelligent. We don't know.

No they won't they'll just turn a blind eye like the other 5000 things that is evidence it's a lie.

I really do hope it has life though, although i'm 99.99% sure the universe does have more life I'd like to see it. What a dissapointment it'll be if they're just like us.
