This guy also made a thread a while ago that people were bullying him in college by calling him an "alien". I would link it, but I can't at the moment; you can thank Gamespot's sh*tty forum software for that.

Wow... that's um... wow.

I'll try linking it later so all of you can have a chuckle. Could just be the computer I'm using.

If you just put in the link, but use the "break link" took in the editor, it should work. :D

Wow, get over it, most people do celebrate Christmas. Quit being so sensitive, it's just a standard holiday greeting. Merry Christmas, may God bless you.;)

I'm Jewish and to be honest you're kind of a douche. They mean well. They want to make you happy and you're ungrateful.

Well tough luck on you?

I aint a Christian, and I know whole lot of none christians who celebrates X-mas, mainly because it was celebrated before the notion of christianity even existed :P

Also Christmas to me, is a holiday which is about sharing happyness, banding together and helping eachother get through the darker days of the year, aswell as a holiday of compasion.

Well that and its the time of year where the stores sells alot of interresting things for fairly cheap up here :P

As a Sidenote I do not get iffed out by any other religious holiday, unless it promotes violence, hatred, or fear.

In all seriousness you have to be a tool to get offended over well wishes whether you celebrate or not. If someone wished me a Happy Hanukkah...I'd wish them one back. I don't celebrate. If someone wished me a Happy Ramadan....I'd wish them one back. I don't celebrate. It actually says more about you as a person than it does about someone trying to tell you they hope you have a good holiday that you get offended over something that in spirit is positive.

Here's the deal...The USA was founded on christianity as far as I know...NOW days people want to try and keep them quiet. Sure some can get rude and in your business a little much...BUT who cant?..If people dont like the word Christmas or crosses or churches...MOVE..Im not christian any longer but I give them their respect like I do any religion.

You know Christmas means Christ's Mass....right? Not a pagan holiday by any means. Same date as a pagan holiday but that does not make it a pagan holiday.

A greeter in Walmart said Merry Christmas to me one year, to which I replied "I'm Jewish." Then we both kind of looked at each other and laughed. Lighten up, it's just a phrase.

I'm not Jewish, btw. :P

Dude deal with it. Why are you so worried about people trying to convert you, are you afraid they will topple your religious faith? You have the wrong kind of heart bro when you get all mad when someone says merry christmas.

Whether or not you're Christian, Christmas is a national holiday, and has lost much of its religious meaning anyway.

I live in Canada and some poeple say Merry Christmas to me. It doesn't bother me that they say it to me but it does bother me that if I don't say it back that I am considered rude. I don't care one bit about Christmas so I don't see why I have to say it back to people.

It's also rude to say hi or hello to people because in some cultures that's not how you greet people. It's rude to wave to somebody or smile because those things can mean different things in different cultures. It's rude to make eye contact, but also rude not to. Basically you should just not go outside because you are likely to offend someone's sensitivities.

It is Christmas, that is the name of the Holiday we are celebrating... 95% of the population celebrates Christmas, if they are Christian or not. Who cares if you don't like it, it's the name of the holiday and people should be allowed to be polite and wish each other a Merry Christmas.

No kidding... if someone wishes you well, regardless of the way they do it... take it and return the favor! Sheesh. If someone tells me, sincerely, that they hope to see me in heaven, the fact that I don't believe in an afterlife and am Jewish doesn't matter... it's a nice thought. I think we can all tell the difference between the passive-agressive behaviour, such as "I'll pray for you," in place of, "FVCK YOU!"... and honest well-wishing.

If I sneeze and someone says, "God bless you!"... I don't lecture them about my beliefs, I say thanks. Obviously the TC is... an alien. :D

Banjo_Kongfooie is an embarrassment to humanity. He is the perhaps the only atheist I've ever seen take contention with the use of the term "Merry Christmas". Hardly divisive or religiously exclusive, taking that into consideration.

coolbeans90

First of all why do you assume I am an aethiest, second of all if I am an aethiest of course I am the only one with this belief because your an aethiest maybe and I do not think like you so thus I am less aethiest right?

That is what republicans do, they say you are not Christian or patriotic if you do not support them. That very thing you just did upset me more than anything that occured last night because I got flashbacks to the Bush administration but I digress.

I never said it was religiously exclusive. I infact argued why ones would complain at the consumer and christian aspects of the holiday.

The fact is that Merry Christmas is a much more divisive term than Happy Holidays. While one can appreciate the possible kindness behind the notion the fact remains that Happy Holidays is the more correct terminology.

I think we all need to pitch-in and buy OP a pressure washer for Christmas. It seems like there is about 10lbs of crusty sand embedded in his vaginathegerg

Sexist and missing the point... The OP has everyrigh to be offended. I can not respond to all I have seen in this thread but I can not believe people are offended that Happy Holidays is the more appropriate term.

Seriously its called being sensitive to others and not shoving your holiday down others throats. Noone is offended at the intent but the terminology.

Anyways I need to stop replying to this thread. I have bigger fish to fry.

KingOfAsia

I don't consider it rude, most people in these countries celebrate Christmas. I don't celebrate Martin King day, but I don't get mad if people wish me a happy MLK day and insist instead that folks would say "happy holidays" (to include President's day, Washington's B-day and Lincoln's b-day).

Actually I don't like the term Happy Holidays because it's too vague. I don't know what holidays that covers.

On the other hand a lot of people say Merry Christmas when we are technically in the advent season (starting four sundays before Christmas) not the Christmas Season (which starts on Christmas Eve at around 5pm). Ironically many people don't say Merry Christmas during the Christmas Season (Christmastide) after Christmas, even though technically speaking the Christmas season doesn't end until the feast of the Three Kings which is the first sunday after the Feast of the Epiphany (January 6).

Let's face it, in life people are gonna say all kinds of things that you don't like. Too darn bad.

I went and picked up something for my dad at this place and I knew the guy was Jewish because he was wearing a yamaka. When I was leaving he said "Merry Christmas. It's not my holiday, but we can't deny it is Christmas time." I told him Happy Hanukkah and left. That was a great day for me.
