This makes sense to me. I mean everywhere around you there is mathematic formulas that dictate how the universe works. You have things in nature that can't be explained such as the golden ratio and fractals. I believe our universe is a computer simulation, which may be running inside another simulation, etc.

To be honest. While it might sound silly, so are other "creation" theories. Anything is possible.

If that's actually being tested, then what I believe is pretty worthless. I'll just wait until the tests are done, and then find out what the answer is. If it's not testable in the first place, then I don't give a $***. If there's no way of knowing, then it doesn't matter.

Better hope that life has a stable operating system though or we'll be seeing the blue screen of death or an error message before the motherboard explodes.

Hey I copied the wrong video, I stealth-edited it correct, though. Dang tabbed browsing. But same topic, without the annoying shouting.

But yeah, reality has ECC. Strange as $hit, eh?

I wonder if our universe's tab is next to the porn tab on our creator's computer. And more importantly, what kind of porn get's our creator turned on?

Hopefully through science and human advancement we can find answers to these questions one day.

Just learned today that pi has a self-correcting formula in hexadecimal. Now I wouldn't be surprised if this were just a stimulation. Thing is, I don't really care at this point.

[QUOTE="mingmao3046"][QUOTE="Rich3232"][QUOTE="mingmao3046"] Do you mean for the creators of our simulation? just like we invented the computer.

what is their universe/reality, then?

it could be similar to ours, or it could be very different. no way to know

How could it be similar or even work if you say that this universe only works because it's a simulation? you are implying that nature wouldn't be able to make this universe work on its own, yet you try to say that we are the product of guys in another universe....your statement has a really big loophole

"mathematics dictate how the universe works" Thats your problem right there its the other way around technically man hasn't invented anything when it comes to math more like discovered and often through observation of the the world around us too. Its not like someone sat in a room and said "1 + 1 = 2 because i say so" it just does.

i think this simulation theory has a lot more evidence than any religion

Maybe the universe is simply a classroom experiment to a more advanced race, they could be sitting in a classroom right now hacking away at a quantum computer saying how their universe is bigger than their buddy's at the next computer.

That would be quite depressing.......it would also mean that god does exist by definition as he would have created this universe with his quantum computer, it would also explain his absence or him sending messengers down through time *cough* Jesus *Cough* Maybe he's trying to get an A+ in his class so he wants us all to be good and love eachother

Though of course that is following the theory. It would be quite hilarious if our lives were really that meaningless, not to say they probably aren't already.

We, as a species, evolved from the last survivors of an ancient civilization on Mars. This civilization started messing around with stuff they shouldn't have and they opened a portal to another dimension, which was actually hell itself. Hell invaded Mars and pushed this civilization to the brink. The last few of them created the Soul Cube, which was wielded by their mightiest warrior, to defeat Hell's mightiest warrior. After the invasion from hell was pushed back, the few survivors locked up the portal and other artifacts so that future species would not make the same mistake they did. Then they fled to Earth and here we are, digging up their mistakes on Mars in the year 2145 and unleashing yet another invasion from hell. That's Doom, btw. Lol.SergeantGuy
I was just about to say that would probably make a good video game :P

Or perhaps you just don't understand his point? He means that the maths that humans create, such as numbers, years, even the seconds and minutes that the Babylonians made - can't really be used to measure the full scope of the universe with pinpoint accuracy.

This is why we come up with systems of measurement that fit the scale being investigated and use natural units that are defined in terms of physical constants such as elementary charge.

If it can't be measured in cubits then that means that God didn't want us to measure it.
