if the human brain had RAM how much would it have?

Id say 1 Terrabyte of RAM, if comparing Short term memory( Which RAM is literily) to long term memory

How are you getting that!? i get slowdown everytime there is lots happening.. i think i need to upgrade my brain.Enough to play "Real Life" at 60 fps with everything maxed out and no slowdowns.

IBM's supermachines emulated a mouses brain... for 3 seconds, before it went kapoof with loadI believe the fastest supercomputer today is around 1/1000th the power of the brian. Just going by memory though.

it appears people really underestimate the power of the brain, or just being really sarcastic.
The brain has the equivilant of about 100 million megabytes of memory.
just because a computer can do calculations much faster than we can doesn't mean its more powerful. Remember, computers don't have to worry about things like senses, movement and other body functions.

i think we have various levels of "memory"...
so, things we use every day (how to walk, for example) would be on our desktop,
things we need occassionally (how to dance, perhaps) would be in a folder,
and things that we need rarely (what happens when a star dies, for example) are stored in those folders that are tucked away in a folder within a folder within a folder named "Stuff You'll Probably Never Need to Know But Let's Hang Onto Anyway."
as far as total RAM... probably a lot more than we think... a Terabyte is my guess.

So the simple way to fine out is my seeing how long of a chain of randomly assorted ones and zeros you can remember

I don't think the brain works in the same was as a computer.. with GPU's/Cpu's/RAM/Mobo's etc. lol.GenTomNot even close :) We have high access times but also high data loss. Computers generally don't forget things over time, remember things sometimes and not others, and produce different results on different days.

From what i've heard when something is in your long term memory it's in there forever but like a computer the more you use it the faster the access times (prefetch)
