It's wrong and can become addicting. A lot of people that rape or do sex crimes say that porn has cuased it. What's your take on sending girls pics of yourself naked pretty much the same thing. Both are acts of lust meaning sin!
As long as everyone involved is involved voluntarily and okay with it being distributed, I don't have a problem with it.
I watch it and I like watching it, but I really do wonder if it any way affects my view on women, although it's not something I think too much on frankly

It's actually far more likely that porn decreases incidents of rape. There tends to be lower incidences of rape in cultures where sex is less taboo, and there is a correlation between a rise in access to internet porn and a decrease in rape. Also, check out Sweden and its massive increase in rape that is associated with the large increase in its fundamentalist Muslim population (which isn't known for watching porn)
i only watch amateur porn (or what looks amateurish), one thing that really annoys me about mainstream pornography is that no matter who the characters are,the sex is never varied; a teacher fvcks her student just like how another dude bangs his wife's best friend.i just don't understand why a sex scene can't be made more passionate than the other one which happens to be more rough? also i wouldn't mind if they tried to make their stories more detailed and believable.

Because it isn't what porn is for.
It is made for simple, straight forward, basic eye candy to it's viewers, nothing more, that's why you hear people say things like "oh story wasn't very good but it's porn so why do I care" and such.
I understand your point, though. It can get pretty stale after a while.
As for the OP - It's a bit of a love/hate vibe. I started watching it since I was 13, and I always gave it a little more attention than your average person(though I was never beyond addicted to it or anything). In recent years I've understood why it's damaging, and I've realized it has caused me to have a bit of paranoia, because it often goberned my mind even when I didn't wanted it, so I avoided for a while.
Now, I still try to not see it too much, but I can't deny it's appeal every so often.
[QUOTE="VaguelyTagged"]yeah this is exactly what I mean. Really? You guys actually give a **** about story-line and characters in a porno? I do agree that most professional porn is crap, I prefer amateur porn because the girls are what you actually get in real life. What I mean by that is they aren't made to look flawless with makeup and surgery like the pro porn stars are, which is boring.i only watch amateur porn (or what looks amateurish), one thing that really annoys me about mainstream pornography is that no matter who the characters are,the sex is never varied; a teacher fvcks her student just like how another dude bangs his wife's best friend.i just don't understand why a sex scene can't be made more passionate than the other one which happens to be more rough? also i wouldn't mind if they tried to make their stories more detailed and believable.

I like the pornos which spend a good chunk of time focused on the girl slowly undressing and revealing herself, with lots of nice closeups and different angles. I hate it when you only get a few minutes with the girl alone before some assh*le shows up and sticks his d*ck in her mouth.
Speaking of oral sex - that's another thing I dislike about pro porn. All blow job scenes are is a closeup of some dudes d*ck and a girls face who looks like she's about to pass out. Not my idea of sexy at all...
That was all a bit off topic. Now, I don't think a little bit of porn every now and then is much of an issue, but many people abuse it, and it can lead to sexual dysfunction and other bad things. A lot of porn is also degrading to women, it's hard to deny that when you watch some of the degrading things they're made to do in some porn, and you know it's this way because there's a demand for that kind of thing.
why not change the title to How do you feel about degrading women? since that is exactly what pornography does, it destroys the youth and destroys the family structure and most importantly destroys the image of women. but i guess there is not a single soul here with any sense of fvcking decency, why not get married, have a daughter, and ask yourself would you want your mother, your wife, your sister or your daughter to participate in those sick diseases?
if thats what they want to do i cant help but feel as a parent its likely ill guide them in a different direction but when they are adults they can make adult decisions just as it should be my adult decision whether or not i watch pornwhy not change the title to How do you feel about degrading women? since that is exactly what pornography does, it destroys the youth and destroys the family structure and most importantly destroys the image of women. but i guess there is not a single soul here with any sense of fvcking decency, why not get married, have a daughter, and ask yourself would you want your mother, your wife, your sister or your daughter to participate in those sick diseases?

It helps when away from home. When you aren't going to see the significant other for months at a time due to work calling you away it's better than nothing.
Some people ask why would I use porn when I have a wife. Well, if my computer gets stolen while I am away from home I don't care if some dude who hacks into it can see pictures of porn stars they can Google but I don't like the idea of them having nude pictures of my wife they could upload on some amateur porn site.
As for people saying it is degrading, porn stars are volunteers and if they feel like they are being degraded they can quit and pick another job. At least for legal porn. I don't support child porn or some other illegal media, so the ones who are being degraded aren't getting my support.

[QUOTE="ad1x2"]Pornstars can pick another job? Like what for example? Anything they are eligible for that won't discriminate against them because of their past. Hell, when I was a recruiter one of my trainers told me about when he put a former stripper in the Army. Not the same thing but pretty close if you don't count the fact that stripping doesn't [legally] involve sex.It helps when away from home. "Anything they are eligible for that won't discriminate against them because of their past." Exactly, there are too many jobs out there that would do just that. If a woman wanted to get out of that wretched business and go elsewhere, where would she go? Going back to my point about porn being degrading, you've acknowledge that it is indeed degrading and humiliating. It is her choice at the end of the day but then why should we participate in it ether way it it's so degrading? It helps when away from home. Because not everybody feels the same way about porn and the First Amendment says it is legal. If you are offended by it you have the right to not watch it. But trying to force others not to watch it because it offends you doesn't make a lot of sense.
Also, it was their choice to begin with and a lot of them had other opportunities. If I'm not mistaken Tera Patrick has a nursing degree she could have used but chose to do porn instead. Montana Fishburne had plenty of support from her father but she chose to go into porn. They aren't all victims who we should feel sorry for.

I'm not asking a legal question; I'm aware of porn's legal status. In addition, anyone who says that porn doesn't sexually degrade and humiliates women is probably lying because it's the sexual humiliation and degradation that would make that same person turn his stomach if his daughter, mother, aunt or cousin got into the same business he loves to watch.I think it is great. For those long spells where I did not have a girlfriend or friend with benefits, it took care of me, for lack of a better term. Its also entertaining, and good for when I cant fall asleep, surprisingly.
I also think it has changed a lot in the past decade or two; it is safer, and women are free to pick and choose their jobs.
It used to be that if a woman didnt do a scene, or was difficult, or exercised her basic right to choose to do or not do something, she could easily get blacklisted from the porn. Now, with the huge variety of opportunity out there, women are free to choose the kind of work they want to do.

yes i do, because it's not necessarily the sex itself tha turns me on, it's the characters and how they end up fvcking that makes me empathize with them.

The same stuff goes in in bedrooms, in private, all across the nation, world, and (maybe) the universe. I am sure my mom and dad did all kinds of nasty things to eachother back in the day, I am sure my sister gets freaky with her fiance on a daily basis, and I've done some things that make me feel filthy and wonderful as well and will never tell or admit to my family. But we don't acknowledge these things because we prefer not to, as it keeps the sanctity of family intact.
Pornstars, for whatever reason, choose to ignore this and simply make it public. Theyre not really degrading women, we already do that (and we degrade men, too, for that matter), that is what makes some sex so much fun. Smack the girls ass, pull the guy's chest hair, S&M...the list goes on of all the depraved and awesome stuff we do to spice up our sex life, and it is all universally "degrading".
And porn is a shining example of this, because you can find just as many films out there degrading the man as you can degrading the woman. And its all voluntary.

So I take it you'd be alright if your mom, dad, your sister and fiance did all of these things in front of the camera and got paid for it?A sinful thing that warps the minds of the ones who look at it and very often brings misery to the ones who are being viewed. Who would want their daughter to be viewed in such a way and for the ones who watch it what if you found images of your daughter? Pornography is abominable.mindstorm
All i can say is every female is someones daughter same as every male is someones son and trust me most have wanted to bang someone before most of have or else how would we be here right now. If i had a daughter i probably wouldn't like to think about it but id understand because people like to and id even go as far to say need to have sex. Unless your child has some extrodinary will or some physical handicap or something its gonna happen. All you can do is educate them so that they do so in safe manner. This is just about sex in general though.
Its important to knwo that these girls are not slaves and arent being forced to do anything. If they are okay with it then why should anyone have an issue with it. I have no problem with porn really for the most part its pretty natural imo. I think we as humans seem to think were above animals but we rent really we have many primal urges/needs and one of them is sex. the society we have built up usually makes sex a taboo subject but most people probably aren't getting enough so porn fills the void quite nicely.
