how do i tell this to my parents?

ahmmm.... just wanna ask a stupid question...

my brother gets everything he wants from my parents, a touch-screen cellphone worth $550 and a nokia Nseries worth $550/expensive shoes(Tmac, dont remember others) / etc just byasking them....

but for me, i only want a good graphics card and another 1gb ram... but my parents want me to have a higher grade in school atleast before i get those thingies.... yes i can get high grades butjust cant coz im too lazy in school and its not my thing and video games are the only things that make me happy and worth living(yeah its a no-meaning life) coz i dont really care on anything.... as for my brother, he didnt have to do anything before getting those stuffs.... his grades(high school - im still in high school)are even lower than mine and he also dropped in school(this year - college)..... but still they got him an iPod.... i dont know what will be next....

seems like they're favoring him or something,... or they dont really see what they're doing....

how do i make them realize what they're doing by not telling them the very straight/direct way????

Who cares about what your brother is getting, the only thing that matters is what you're doing to yourself. If you're getting awful grades, you should work on those because it's not going to benefit your parents or your brother but it is going to benefit you in the long run.

GPUs and Ram are expensive, just tell your parents that you will raise your grades if they offer your those two things. Then raise your grades even if they don't want to give them to you.

I don't understand the question... You said in your post your parents will get you the stuff you want if you get better grades. What's the problem? Just get better grades if you want that stuff from your parents. Those are the rules, right?

In the meantime, stop worrying about what your brother gets, or doesn't get. In real life, you can't spend your time worrying about keeping up with the Joneses. Just worry about yourself. You can only control your own choices, not your brother's or your parents'.

And on a related note, you should strive to do well in school anyway for your own benefit, not because of some tangible bribe your parents dangle in front of you. Just saying.

If you feel you deserve it, you should tell them straight up.

1: just get better grades, your parents will favour you, you will therefor get more preasents than you spoiled bro. Plus you will be more likely to succeed in life, get better job, get paid more, get more stuff.

Maybe they are trying to find someway to get you interested in your studies. If you get decent grades and work hard, then you will likely be able to do more things with your life. Meaning that you will be able to find more point to it and so forth.
