I used to write in cursive when I was a child, it's easy, if you need help you can get a calligraphy book to help you out.

I haven't written in cursive since 5th grade. In elementary school, they tried to scare us into thinking that we'd have to write in cursive for the rest of our lives as students, but that turned out to be totally false. I can still write in cursive if I have to, but it looks kind of crappy. I much prefer printing.t3hrubikscube
What he said. Except, I learned in 6th grade.

You need to learn cursive asap. Thats the problem with the computer age, children are losing their manual dexterity. :(

And now we have terrible handwriting. My little brothers writing is atrocious, it hurts my eyes :( I remember as a kid how i took great pride in making all my letter perfect.

As long as you don't write in all capitals, and the teacher can read it, I doubt it matters.

I'm not forced into it, I just do it naturally, but tis pretty bad as I dont take the time to do it nicely, but some people can make it out.

I can't write cursive very well either. I don't understand why some schools require students to write like that.

I started learning it in 2nd grade, but I gave up on it as soon as I entered the 6th grade, and I haven't used it since. Most of my friends don't use it either.

And if they can't read it, they're not going to fail you on assignment or anything. They will just ask you to type it up probably.

I haven't been to a public school in three years. I'm a freshman now... Older than my peers, yet at least I now have peers. Hopefully that'll stop me from harming myself. Anyway, to the point: I can't write in cursive. Handwriting. Fancy writing. All joined together words. Whatever you want to call it...Where the 'S' looks nothing like a print 'S'. Is this a problem? This is my first day of school, and I'm doing my homework. Just wondering if you had to write in cursive... Hopefully my horrible print will be counted towards my grade.

I only write in cursive, I can write faster and more neatly that way compared to writing in print.

In my public highschool, nobody is expected to write in cursive. Teachers do NOT care about your handwriting or how neat you are, grades are based entirely upon content.

Only when I sign something. Teachers were like OH NOES you have to use it in highschool 24/7. Haven't used it yet. Heck used it more in elementary than high school.

I write in cursive, but being out of school now, I rarely write at all. It's not really that important to write in cursive as long as you are able to read in cursive.
