Godzilla vs King Kong trailer has arrived!

Not a bad trailer but man, it looks like my boy Godzilla is going to take another L after seeing Kong takings blows on the big green. This is the type of movie I wanna see in IMAX but giving the fact I have HBO Max & covid-19 isn't slowing down, watching it at home will have to do :(

Yeah, this film definitely needs IMAX. Oh well.

Quite enjoyed the last movie. Wasn't amazing, but it was more enjoyable than the first. Fantastic score by Bear McCreary.

I'm so damn sick of seeing the Stranger Things kids in every movie now.

Nice all these movies are on HBO Max, and I got a pretty good 4K OLED and decent sound system. Not as good as IMAX for video and audio but also not a fortune either, and safer concerning COVID.

As for this film, I still need to give the Godzilla and Kong movies of last few years a viewing because I haven't yet.

As for films I have been dying to watch, before Covid shut everything down Saint Maud was supposed to release, and if it didn't get pushed back a few weeks I could have seen it, but it did and I didn't, thankfully that releases digitally in a week or so, looking forward to that. Heard good things from those that did manage to see it. That A24 should make a deal with one of these streaming services because I would totally get it... except AppleTV.

We all know this isn't gonna be high art. That being said, I can't wait to see the big G kick the ever lovin' **** outta Kong.

@warmblur: Stranger Things in general has kind of run its course. Argue it did it the end of season 2, but which is just a repeat of season 1 lol

Loved Kong Skull Island, really enjoyed the last Godzilla movie (most of the human characters were trash, but I didn't watch it for their stories or acting) and I'm SUPER excited for Godzilla vs Kong!!! Sadly I doubt I'm going to watch this in a theater, not worth the risk. :(

The movie probably will be 2-3hrs long with terrible dialogue and boring human characters.

@PSP107: The second Godzilla wasn't really ashamed to be a monster movie like the first entry. Had a fair bit of monster mayhem, which critics hated.

First movie has a pretty awesome Dante's Inferno sequence, but it did seem very fixated on "shit no one cares about".

Ugh. Humans are just the absolute worst. Am I right?

@PSP107: Screen-time for both movies is comparable.

But the way the first movie is shot, it's deliberately awkward cutaway shots where almost all the time can barely see what is going on. In some cases it's great, like the Dante's Inferno sequence, but a lot of the time it's closer to something like Cloverfield until the final fight sequence.

The "human stuff" in it drastically bogs it down in my opinion feeling much more monotonous than it should.

Not like Predator where you actually only see it on screen for 10 minutes but everything building up to it is engaging. It's just boring.

KOTM is far more straightforward in nature and closer to the later B-movies, specifically still has problem of "shit I don't care about", but the score kind of lifts it on emotional level in some scenes using remade versions of original scores from that Battlestar Galactica fellow.

So yea, more execution than actual difference of screen time.

Man, I can't wait for this. I actually liked the first Godzilla and LOVED King of the Monsters. Thank God I put money into my audio system!

Edit: First time I saw that specific trailer...so Godzilla is bad now? Guessing it'll be a draw again and they find out what is egging Zilla on.

Ugh, did Kong have some actual weapon in that fight? I hope they don't make this stupid (yes I know it's a movie of a lizard and gorilla fighting each other).

Going to be the voice of reason here, the first 2 had amazing trailers but the actual movies ranged from meh to shit. This thing seems to have an awesome trailer just like those 2, so don't get carried away with hype. Actually too late, seems super over-hyped already.

I hope I'm wrong, but I'm having a strong flop prediction.
