Generally, I assume that somebody is the same gender as their avatar. If someone has a cute little anime chick as their avatar, I figure they're probably a girl. In fact, I was "friends" with someone on Xbox Live, who for the better part of a year I thought was a girl. This person was in fact a male, with a cute anime chick avatar and a kinda high-pitched voice.
Anyway, this assumption of mine has been incorrect at times, so I was wondering if my assumption has any statistical basis. Option 3 on my poll is for all those of you who have sports logos, letters, numbers, technological apparatus, or mid-90s screensavers as your avatars.
