I've had my share of fresh high end pizzas from many establishments: Ci Cis , Pizza Hut, Dominoes, Lil Caisers (many more) and I find that a frozen Red Baron or Digornio beats them all hands down in crust texture, cheese that is well distributed and tastes and melts delicously and sauce (this is important) most of the above establishments skimp on the sauce and it tastes like cheesy bread (this is vile) its like having a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with 2 drops of jelly and 90% peanut butter, it disrupts the ying and yang of pizza. Frozen pizzas ALWAYS have this balance nailed and generates a great mouth feel. Anyone else agree?

well some prefer bread with cheese on it, if you like that then try bruschetta because pizza has sauce on it.

Well, he did compare frozen pizza to the likes of Pizza Hut, Dominoes, and Little Caesar's.............................I probably would like frozen pizza over them........ But generally.........no, fresh is always better. Also, "high end" and "pizza hut, dominoes, and Little Caesar's" does not compute

No, but there is a charm with the flavor of froozen pizza.

It's why I prefer cheap traditional frozen pizza over Digiorno

I can agree with the crust statement. Just had some california pizza kitchen frozen pizza last night and was thinking, "damn, this is some good crust."

While I more than agree with your ratio theory, I'm not so sure you can compare frozen to fresh pizza...

That 's like saying Michelina's pasta TV dinners are better than real pasta because you've eaten at the Olive Garden and from the pasta section at TGI Fridays.

Good restaurant pizza is the best. I agree fast food pizza is complete garbage (pizza hut, papa johns) and I would take frozen over fast food any day. Plus the price after delivery fees is ridiculous, it's like 15-20 bucks for a pizza versus $3.33 for a red baron ham and pineapple pizza. My favorite place for pizza is called "Pizza Heaven" in my hometown area.

I agree here, the texture is better for some of these frozen pizzas than many restaurant pizzas, many times I order pizza and it's so covered in cheese and meat and oil that shit goes soggy and I can't even eat a slice without it falling apart. The Pizza Hut next to my old place used to be good until the cook went on a shooting rampage then killed himself, whoever they hired to cook the pizzas after that sucked ass.

Did you just call Ci Ci's high end? that alone ruins your credibility and any subsequent argument. And until a frozen pizza can replicate a good NY style slice, they will never be better.

You beat me to it. I agree totally with the fact that Dominos, Pizza Hut, Little Ceaser's or Ci Ci's Pizza are not high end places. I would rather get a Bobili crust and make my own pizza over those, at least it is hot when I take it out of the oven and is made the way I want it compared to frozen pizza that you have no control over the toppings on.

I remember really enjoying Garlic Jim's pizzas precisely because of the generous portions of red sauce they used to have.

I stopped patronizing a nearby franchise when it started skimping on the sauce.  :(

The *only* frozen pizza I've had that comes close to the real thing has been Home Run Inn pizza. Seriously, it doesn't taste like a frozen pizza at all. I was in a state of shock when I first tried it.

dominos new deep dish is pretty good. and if you get their new thin crust in medium it tends to cook just right and is pretty nice. i would say some of the major chains have better than frozen pizza but other than those two dominos things i would most chain pizza and frozen pizza are just as good, just in different ways.

Yeah same here actually, I did get pizza from a local place before and it liteally took almost an hour just for one pepperoni pizza and it didn't taste good at all. I never went there again, it's out of business now.

Supreme Frechetta pizza is the best frozen pizza ever.

Aside from Papa Pete's (local pizza parlor) and Papa Murphy's, nothing beats it.
