COWBOY BEBOP / SAMURAI CHAMPLOO / DEATHNOTE, although i havnt seen much of the anime i have read all the manga, the manga is amazing
AHHH I FORGOT AKIRA, akira is amazing it is so good :D
Of all time I'd have to go with Dragonball-Z-GT, since that series got me into anime in the first place. Since then I've seen too many to rank so I'll just list some in no order that I like.
Gundam WingNo particular order
Other mentions: Air, Bacanno, Clannad, Kanon, Mushishi, Monster, Naruto(without the fillers).
I haven't watched other Animes yet
Of all time, I'd say Evangelion, FullMetal Alchemist and Full Metal Panic! FUMOFFU.
Recently I've been getting into Rosario + Vampire, DearS, Soul Eater, and Haruhi Suzumiya.
I hate it when people dismiss Anime as just a form of porn and stuff that only weird asian people who live in temples watch, but I have to admit I've never really gotten into an Anime series. Kinda weird for someone who speaks Japanese, I guess. Watched a lot of J dramas though, some of them which I really really liked.PotatoSandWitchSo you live in Japan then? That's pretty cool. Do lots of people over there watch anime/read manga? I'd bet so, since, well, it kind of comes from there :P

I do know though, that there are of course many who read manga and watch anime. Of course, all asians aren't the same, so there's going to be Japanese guys and girls who have no interest in that stuff too.

Japanese people are pretty lucky, because anime is a hell of a lot better than cartoons over here in North America. Must be a pretty big deal over in Japan, but it sure isn't common in NA. If I went to school and told people I watch anime, I'd be called a nerd or a weaboo or something similar.
i dont like anime all the characters look like they got in a fight with a dark pencil, and lost. seriously though i don't llike anime.ChiefvsGordonWell, hopefully you can respect the fact that some people do like it

ZaerynIs weaboo actually a term regular people use? I've never heard it off line.

VacantPsalmIs weaboo actually a term regular people use? I've never heard it off line.Yeah, I've heard it in my school, same as other internet language that seems to be spreading into the real world. If I were to tell people in my school that I watch anime, then they'd think I'm a nerd and a weaboo for watching Japanese animation. Don't really see how that is anymore nerdy than watching TV, but whatever...
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, sola, Kanon 2006, Clannad and Lucky Star are the best anime series I've seen. I don't like long, slow, action anime, which is why I don't watch One Piece, Naruto, Bleach etc. I used to watch Bleach but after 45 episodes I couldn't take anymore. Master_SaibotYeah I hate shows that drag on too. 24 or so episodes is enough, with another 24 if there's another second season. Naruto has like 250.

Master_SaibotI still like some Bleach, but some of the story arcs can be kind of hard to get into.

Yeah. When I go looking for anime to watch, if it has any more than about 50 episodes I won't watch it.
I fail to see what's good about Code Geass. It's basically a futuristic Death Note rip off.jointed
Except it was made for little girls so they could fantasize over the many, many metrosexual characters; the show has the WHOLE RANGE of cliched characters for your selection, all with a metro flavour might I add. Its got the dark, emo and somewhat evil prince who is really just a little boy (Lelouche), the valiant rulefollowing little white prince, Suzaku, and many more.
The story is quite good. Its not a Death Note rip off. Its quite different, it just has the whole 'playing on the knife's edge' theme that is quite an old theme, just new to an anime.
That said, anyone who enjoys that show thoroughly needs to check if their body has not absorbed their testicles yet, because DAMN thats some SERIOUSLY weird stuff. Its like, every single manga/anime artist/developer actually has no idea what the opposite sex thinks or acts like.
Personally, I'm a sucker for Narutard. Its just violent enough to appeal to me. But if you really want to read a good manga, read Berserk, or Gantz those two are some serious brutal ****. The characters are so much less 2dimensional than the cardboard cutout Shonen characters.

Agreed. I've stopped getting Negima! manga because it's up to volume 16 and doesn't even feel half way through. That and I feel ripped off that 3 days has spanned 6-7 books.
