Despised Icon. I have started to get into real death metal lately tho. I love stuff like Vomitory for example. I finally got into Opeth too, it's awesome.
I also really enjoy the bands Tickle Me Pink, The All-American Rejects, Red, Rise Against, and My Chemical Romance. I'm getting more into Ben Folds, Deathcab for Cutie, and a few other bands too. :)

For for the one million'th time, my favorite band has both the most underrated guitarist and drummer of all time and that band is The Smashing Pumpkins ;)
When it comes to modern, non-cIassical "bands," I would have to say I am quite partial to Alice in Chains and Layne Staley. His voice is so sublime and you can hear all the depression he suffered from every time he opens his mouth. Especially in the song "Nutshell" from the album "Jar of Flies." It is such a shame that an amazingly talented person like him had to die so young.

I can't really pick one band to be my favorite so here's a list of bands that I love: Tool Pink Floyd (all Floyd from the Barrett days to all of Roger Waters/David Gilmour's solo works) Bob Dylan Brand New Pedro The Lion Bright Eyes Ben Harper Led Zep The Who Bruce Springsteen Third Eye Blind Damien Rice Thrice ...and of course many more but these are the bands I most frequently listen to.
Whenever someone makes a "Favourite band that only has one good song" thread Babylon Zoo gets my vote. Spaceman. I LOVE love love that song, but I am not entirely sure what it's about.
Personally I mlisten to a lot of trance and stuff so I dont come across a lot of artists with several good songs. I also have several "favourite" songs, because of the different styles.
Going by iTunes "Most Played" tab doesn't help either. I'll go with Andain, just because they have a aprticular song I think is the bees-knees.
But Breaking Benjamin, Yellowcard, Static X and Celldweller all get votes too (I'm well aware they are not techno/trance).
