I only drink soy milk now. I much prefer the taste of it.

Yeah I drink 500ml a day on average. It's delicious and healthy and we share DNA with cattle so I don't see a problem with it as they are an ancestor if you go back far enough. Some of the first homosapiens had features similar to the bovine and to this day we can still see that in various humanoid specimens.
I'm such a badass I drink it for breakfast. An when I drink it this moment becomes the most action packed event of the day. Helps I have Top Gun soundtrack playing to.
I've crossed my thirtieth year and I still occasionally drink more than a liter a day. It helps, that I love chocolate milk...
Cheese on the other hand.... I realyl detest it. As a child, my peers would tease my by trying to touch me with "cheese fingers" and I'd get violent to avoid it.
Absolutely not!
Not pasteurized cows milk at least. The bad far outweighs the good. I drink Silk Almond Milk, and from what I understand Raw Milk is much better for you also.
As a Cancer survivor I've learned a lot of things concerning nutrition and treating your body right.
I lol'd hard.
The appeal to nature is strong in this one.
@N30F3N1X:
You shouldn't be laughing too hard, apparently you are uninformed if you think pasteurized cows milk is actually good for you. Research it. The only good thing is an abundance of Vitamin D, but supplements, wild salmon, and fun in the sun can close that gap. I know a lot of people on here are young and don't realize this YET.
But it's cool, notice I didn't criticize anyone for it, and I WAS a long time drinker of cows milk. But I learned better, and hopefully someone else will also.
And yes, nature is strong with some of us Cancer survivors.

I'm informed enough to spot bullsh!t when I see it. It's especially easy when someone is basing what he's saying on an appeal to nature fallacy, because that is a clear demonstration that they're pushing their opinion around a scientific fact basing it on emotional mantras rather than actual scientific fact.
The only difference between fresh milk and unpasteurized milk is that fresh milk doesn't have risk of being an infection vector. Sorry to burst your bubble. Science>your opinion.
It doesn't matter that "you didn't criticize anyone for it". Being nice doesn't change the fact that you tried to push pseudoscientific bullsh!t.
@N30F3N1X:
I always go by the science, I have a degree in the hard sciences.
You need to do research with reputable sites and people to get up to speed on the subject, while Raw Milk can be dangerous if you buy from just anybody, if you get it from a reputable dealer it is FAR more nutritious and better tasting. The Almond Milk I drink is much much better for you than pasteurized cows milk, which doesn't have much nutritional value, even the Vitamin D is the inferior D2.
You need to quit criticizing people for eating closer to nature or eating better than you do. I'm doing you a favor and giving you a wake up call. I consider this discussion ended.

LMAO yeah, hard sciences being gender studies apparently.
FDA reputable enough? Because here, they say
unpasteurized milk is 150 times more likely to cause foodborne illness and results in 13 times more hospitalizations than illnesses involving pasteurized dairy products
and
Research shows no meaningful difference in the nutritional values of pasteurized and unpasteurized milk.
Keyword here is "research", not naturalnews or veganeasy.
No, I don't need to quit doing anything. The concept of "getting closer to nature" is an expression pushed by pseudoscientists which has success only because there are dumbasses like you who fall for the appeal to nature fallacy which has no scientific value of any kind, and I'm italian, so you really better know your sh!t before telling me, of all people, to eat better (and if it wasn't clear enough, you don't).
You can consider this discussion ended because you just got wrecked and all you would be able to add to a reply to this post will be just an embarrassment to yourself.
Sure. It's tasty as hell and can be used in variety of dishes.
Overall I eat a lot of dairy. It's polish thing, we have shitload of dairy products in our stores.
@N30F3N1X:
No, FDA is not reputable enough they are behind the times. I mean they still seem to think 400-600 iu of Vitamin D a day is sufficient! What!!!!!
No wonder there are so many health problems here in the U.S. Low Vitamin D is associated with all-cause mortality. You need to go to the cutting edge of science.
@N30F3N1X:
Just got wrecked? Not at all, I'm way past your outdated information from an ultra-conservative source. The leading edge of science is way past that.
And you call me a dumbass while you push idiotic crap on us? Just sad. I wouldn't wish anything bad on you but if something bad happens don't say I didn't warn you. A wakeup to reality call might be helpful to you. And no need to be defensive, sorry if you can't handle to reality of what I'm saying.
Nope. Just almond and coconut milk. I'm lactose intolerant but I still eat cheese and ice cream.
I don't miss the glass of milk.

so why are they wrong?
@lostrib:
Because 400 - 600 was originally set as a defensive value to avoid rickets in children or osteomalacia in adults. But they are now finding that higher Vitamin D levels play a part in preventing cardiovascular diseases, cancer, dementia, fractures, and all-cause mortality. Basically, you need to get your Vitamin D blood level between 40-50 ng/ml for good preventive health.
For most people to get there you need 1,000 - 2,000 iu's a day supplemental unless you are in the sun constantly and are in the Southern states. Get an OH(D) Vitamin D test and see were you stand. People who take dairy probably only need about 1,000 iu's a day. But this is one of the most important vitamins (actually it's a hormone) to ever supplement and it's cheap! Just make sure it's D3.
Nature Made is the product I use, it gets good ratings in Consumer Labs.
Yeah, I live for milk. Have it in cereal all the time, and I have cereal quite often. :P I also don't mind drinking the occasional glass of milk.
Though when I do have milk, usually its chocolate.
And man, don't get me started on cheese/cheesy foods, delicious (mac and cheese anyone? Though I like shells and cheese best.) Just like what the commercials say, liquid gold. I'd say that's a popular opinion.
