I do because it would certainly decrease the crime rate by the increased fear from police.

or even better, just execute them all, for like a 98% decreased in cime rate.

Something like this should be done, well not as intense as executing, but something close to torture instead of just locking them up and then releasing them again in the world -__-

Gangs like MS-13 aren't afraid of fear they have even killed a president in South America. Executing them will NOT do anything more or less just show how the police are like murders.

Not all muderers are afraid of thier actions. Some belive they won't be caught. Most murdered don't get relased anyway unless it was something like, you were drinking and driving and you killed someone.

The only way I see it to see a decrese in crime would be like if not the police but some divine being would start a mass crusade against criminals and killed everone one of them, maybe that would decrease it.

Yeah, coupled with the other thread, obvious troll is obvious. To answer the question, of course not. The point of the justice system should be rehabilitation and isolation, not retribution.

Granted, we can't have cowardly criminals running around in America, either. It ruins the image of the country to have wuss criminals all over the place.

How we SHOULD punish criminals is by giving them a sword and shield and have them fight against some huge guy in steel armor with a flail in order to earn their freedom. That way, we only have the real badass criminals here.

well, for one - I'd prefer my tax dollars taken out of my pay check didn't go to buy child/mass murderers food, medical care, and toilet tissue as they sit in prison... but rather, to something a bit more useful...

Actually, the death penalty is much more expensive than life in prison. Death row inmates usually sit on death row for at least 10 years, so you're still paying for their lives for quite a bit of time. There's a lot more pre-trial stuff that has to be paid for, the trial has to be split into two parts (deciding guilt and deciding on the death penalty) so the trial is longer and costs more, and both sides tend to use more lawyers.
