Do you gamers wear glasses??

Hey!!!
i wanna start a survey..
i currently have near perfect vision with slight glare...

i've been playing alot of x-box and using computer alot these few months..and wondered if my eyes were decllining...which i don't want

For all those gamers out there...Who wears glasses??? (Please also state how much time you spend on the computer or gaming consoles??)

but i usualy anymore i wear contacts but if im really laszy that day ill just stick with glasses

I wear contacts, but I have for a long time. A few years ago I got hit in the eye with a screw, and my retina detached, two surgeries later I have a silicon strap around my eye holding it together. So the lesson is this: While constant gaming MAY be bad for your vision, screws slaming into your eyes ARE bad for your vision!

I dont wear regular glasses but I have actually started keeping sunglasses near my PC monitor and PS3 so that when my eyes start to hurt they can get relief from the shade. I think the minor levels of UV ray light can hurt your eyes, or so I've read. And I do get eye strain quite frequently in extended sessions. The shades seem to help when i really don't want to stop. If my eyes start to hurt or burn fromTV or PC I use "HypoTears" but before you do you should ask a doctor just like I did

There are two reasons why computer people where glasses more often, or rather why computers affect vision.

1. You stay very close to the screen, which over extended periods of time with your eyes focusing on it can eventually cause a change in the shape of the eye to accomodate seeing things closely. Then your far range vision gets bad.

2. UV light from monitors.

The solution is quite simple. Take breaks. Give your eyes 15 minutes to refocus, or whatever you can spare if you've been close to a monitor for a long period of time.

It just depends on how close you are to the monitor. Its the old saying mothers would give their kids about sitting too close to the tv. Same with games on a tv, but people especially sit close to PC monitors which is the issue.

Ya, for sure, as for sitting too close to the PC monitor, I think if the monitor itself is good, it wouldn't affect the eyes.

Nope, never wear glasses. I was suppose to earlier on when I was a kid, but I never did wear them anyways, and now my eyes are perfect, go figure.

Not wearing my glasses fixed my vision! Lol, I never noticed anything wrong about my vision anyway, I just have a lazy eye.

I only wear them in college, I can still see fine without them.-DarthMaul-
