After noticing that the brief period of sleep after you hit that snooze button is so much more satisfying than the actual hours you get, I tried setting my first alarm clock to wake me up about 30 minutes earlier than usual. After the first alarm clock rings, I wake up - only to go right back to sleep until my second alarm clock gives me the actual wake-up call.

I don't know if it's a mental thing, but for some reason, I feel incredibly rejuvenated every time I do this - almost like I decided to sleep in that day instead of getting up.

So does anyone else do this?

I can't do this cause if I go back to sleep, I'll be more in a coma than usual. It takes alot to keep me awake, especially if I know I have to go to work.

No I do not. Sounds like something I would try though. I love waking up thinking it is time to get up but finding out that it is not at all and being able to just sleep.

I thought I was the only one doing that LOL. I set up my alarm clock 30-40 mins earlier, then set it up the right time and go back to sleep.

I used to do that...but didn't exactly work. Instead I have 5 alarms that go off at the same time placed around my room so I actually have to get up to shut them off...I wouldn't wake up otherwise =P

I used to wake up during school and see my brother still getting to sleep in and wanted nothing more to go back to bed.

Then I always try it and can never do it.

No, because when I wake up I'm up, so I don't want to get less sleep.

Not on purpose but i have woken up, took a shower and went back to bed many times. But i do like waking up many times in the morning and falling back asleep. Me sleep like lots.

I guess the Sleep button does make up for it as i press it about 3-5 times in the morning.

I do the same thing. I have my first alarm to go off at 11 am, get up out of bed (I purposely have my alarm clock on the other side of the room so I'm forced to get up), and then I immediately go back to sleep until 12

I just use one alarm and give myself about a half our grace period to hit snooze if I feel like it.

I, too, have to say this. I find it very hard to go back to sleep once I'm up--unless I'm really tired. But at those moments, I am not allowed to go back to sleep.

I do the same thing

I even started putting one inside the light fixture in my room so i would have to reach up and unscrew the lid to turn it off. Sad thing is I still have a bad habit of turning them all off and going right back to sleep.

this is actually exactly what i do. i even get up about 30 min. early too. its awsome. you dont notice those 30 min if its consecutive with the rest of your sleep. but when you set it aside for going back to sleep, its like a little treat.

I don't do that, but whatever works for you... -once I get up at 5 am, I am up for the day I really don't sleep at all (less than 5 hours a night) My mind does not seem to have a shut off switch...it will just keep running; thinking about all sorts of scenarios, what if's, maybe's, how to's, and why's. The only "cure" that I have ever found to be effective is massive amounts of alcohol

Glad I am not the only one, it is much more relaxing to be tired and laying in your bed barely awake. I put my clock one hour before I wake up

Something usually wakes me up when I go to sleep, not that I wanted to be woken up 30-40 mins after I lay my head to rest.

My roommate sets his alarm to go off for every 15 minutes for an hour before waking up. I do not understand this...why not just wake up an hour later? The "sleep" he is getting isn't real sleep anyway.

I used to do this before I discovered the 1 hour snooze. You ever have the roommate who won't wake up for his alarm? I always used to kick in the door and rip the alarm out of the wall. I also hate its close cousin, the roommate's alarm going off when they aren't home.

I'm doing this for 3 or 4 Years now. (School here) I wake up at 6:00 to shut my ringing alarm clock and go back to sleep. After exactly 30 Minutes it will ring again.. that's when I get up. It makes waking up easier for me :P

It is so great, because it just feels good waking up and going right back to sleep.

It's 10:30 here, I have to be at work at 7 (witha 20 min comute).

I gurantee I'll wake up at three, am, and start worrying about it. Then I'll watch the clock until about 5am, fall into a deep sleep, have some jacked up dreams, get up at 5:45 to take a shower, and still be on the road by 6:40.

It Doesn't make the day any more pleasant. But I've been doing it for a while.

I need to get my clock right.

i let my alarm ring 4 times in the morning so i can just relax between the rings. it does feel good. i also love when i wake up in the middle of the night, like around 3 am, and knowing that i still have hours of sleep left.

Yep that's good wake up tactic. Try to push over a little more and do 1 hour before you actually have to be awaken, its great to see you have 1 full hour of sleep ahead of you instead of 30 mins
