big supplier of stockpiled ak47's.

one of the most versatile and reliable rifles ever made.

Well you shouldn't think AK when you think of Europe, since it came from Russia, most of which is considered to be in Asia.

Nobody considers Russia to be in Asia...Eastern Europe yeah, but not Asia. There is nothing Asian about Russia.

Tell that to this map then:

you just made yourself lose

It's on wikipedia actually, type in Europe :|. However, it was only a ploy to prolong my inevitable demise.

I dont think this is really a question of Americans, but rather anybody importing foreign goods. Im from the UK, and if i bought something and said "yeah man i got it in america" that automatically adds some form of invisible bonus points to whatever i'm showing off.

It's just an idea which seems luxurious; that you got something from another country.

Generally, no. But I did just see a commercial for the ShamWOW and they said that it's made in Germany, so it must be high quality. :P

ak47's are also massively stocked in the post soviet bloc nations.

moscow is part of the european portion of russia, so it's european.

historically russia is more asian than european.

[QUOTE="Ilived"]If they see something that is made in Europe it is suddenly great quality, elegant dependable and just better?SpidersRMe

You shouldn't generalize all Americans as being one group, jerk!

There are people from the North and people from the South. From a broad, stereotypical standpoint, Southerners would claim that they don't want a plastic Nazi car, they want a steel behemoth. People from urban areas, typically Northern would claim that Italian and French things are fancy, British things are smart and German things are well-made.

but two groups is ok?

Depends on the product. I don't automatically assume something is well made just because it comes from a certain country. I try to do research before purchasing something. I live in the USA...the thing that saddens me a little is that a lot of products that were once manufactured here, are now produced overseas because of the cheaper labor costs. Anway, I'm getting off topic. I think some good knives and guns are made in Europe...like Boker knives and Springfield Armory guns.

No matter what insane, asinine, utterly stupid and impossible concept you think up, there is at least one person who believes it to be true.Silvarach

Off-topic, but what if Full Metal Alchemist ended with saying that as "the one and only truth"? The Elric brothers would have gotten owned so hard.

Well, being of heavy European descent, with a lot of my family living in Europe, I tend to like European things more.

Cars-Germans and Italians > American

Food-German/Belgian Chocolate > Hersheys

Weaponry- German H&K and Russian Kalashnikov line > U.S. Colt series M16/M4

Language-I think German, Russian, and Italian sound much cooler than English. Not that I dislike English, but something in another language always draws me near.

I still believe the United States has the best Film Industry, 2nd best technology (to Japan), and Army.

Not at all. Maybe on some machines or something I've bought several of before, IE: Nissan cars, but other than that no.

I can't think of an example of this, maybe music.

-Austin-

Not even that, for music is just a bunch of noise and cannot be dependable, better, or elegant, really... Some is just more organized than others.

Ok, but can people see why I asked this question? I mean, hasn't there been a point where you are buying something and someone says "oh it's made in Italy, so that's pretty authentic which is better."? I could be wrong though.Ilived

It means someone bothered importing it so it must be better for it to be worth the cost
