I'm sure a conservative PM has no motive for such a quote. Also Winston didn't do so well outside of war-time.

To be honest, I don't really like Obama (anymore, back in 08 I was cheering for him JUST because he was black)

I want Mitt Romney to win. I'm not an American, but I like the U.S. for what it is. A rather 'elitist' country. You either wash toilets or you're a corporate billionaire. Nah that's taking it a bit too far, but you get what I mean.

Obama is trying to make the US into a boring ass state like a Europe country, and will fail at doing so. Why is the US pretending to be Europe? USA =/= Denmark, Sweden, Norway, UK, Netherlands, Germany, Swizterland etc.

socialist states have the "everyone is equal" crap going on, I'm more of an aristocrat, if you're educated and skilled you SHOULD earn more than some one who's not.

in Norway, a painter who quit school after middle school can earn $100,000 a year (like my grandpa) while a high school teacher with a master degree in biology and near-perfect university grades eanrs $80,000 a year (like my teacher)

I fail to see the logic in this.. Go 9/9/9 fixed tax rate IMO, I don't remember who proposed it, but I'd like to see it happen.

Those two examples of workers also make a truckload of money compared to many Americans and they also have access to cheap and free higher education options and a higher standard of living and low crime rates. Sign me up.

JML897

As opposed to America where Teachers with Masters degrees have always just been swimming in money? I'm not sure you really know that much about America.

HR Director in the US: $150,000/year (pays what.. 28% tax?) $1/L for petrol + $3-4 for Big Mac + $50,000 for Shelby GT500 + $1 for HDMI cable + $15 for cheap vodka? HR Director in Norway $120,000/year (pays 45% tax) $2.50/L for petrol + $9 for Big Mac + $300 000 for Shelby GT50 + $20 for HDMI cable + $60 for cheap vodka And Norwegians think Norway is the richest country in the world lol.

I will answer that with a Citizen Kane parody. What is his name? It's Herman Cain. (Chorus: It's Mister Cain!) He doesn't like that Mister He likes good old Herman Cain.

Nearly half of that amount of money goes to tax, petrol and cars cost twice as much (a Nissan GT-R is $350,000 here, A USED 2009 Ford Focus might go for around $30,000), a can of coke is about 2 dollars and I could go on for ages. And no the standard of living isn't higher. Sign me out

A 45 min taxi ride? that'll cost you about $200. But wait, you can ask a friend to drive you can't you? No one will BOTHER driving you for 45 minutes unless he gets paid at least $150, each way of course. 200 gram packet of chicken? $8. a chocolate bar? those are nearly 3 dollars.. Need to go to the gym? $100 a month. What about internet? $80/month will get you a "decent" connection. Want to watch Spanish AND English football? Need 3 different channel packages that will rund you abour $150/month. $1600/month in rent in a central area? Might get you 2 rooms if you're lucky. Drive to work? You'll need to pay $4 in road taxes each way (mandatory to have a chip in your car that charges you each time you hit a checkpoint, should be around $16).. Order a pizza? That'll be 30 dollars. And Norway is better than most European countries because they go through the same hassel/taxes but earn way less. If you want haven.. move to Abu Dhabi or Dubai. Tax free, high paid jobs like Norway, 15 cent coke cans, 20 cent/L petrol, US car prices, 45 minute taxi ride? would cost like 10 bucks.. a big mac maybe $2 and a huge ass pizza is less than 10 dollars

Hate to break it to you, but the US is far from the meritocracy you seem to think it is. And Obama is no more trying to make the US an "everyone is equal" country than any other president we've had since Rooseveldt. There isn't a hell of a lot of difference between Republicans and Democrats when it comes down to it. Also, if you supported Obama just because he's black then you are a f*cking idiot and I'm glad you don't have a vote in my country.

A thousand years of darkness will commence on December 21, regardless of which candidate is elected.

He's right though, I don't get the point of this thread. Obama's actions now and another 4 years will affect this country forever. Our decisions today, affect our tomorrow - specially with the atrocious work Obama has done.

undergroundLPx

Nope. Bush Sr. and Jr. already have affected your country forever ;)

Everyone who came after them was just there to clean up the BS they produced. And we're talking about a farm of Tyrannosaurus Rex BS load here.

[QUOTE="Teenaged"]

[QUOTE="GIJames248"]

Actually, good point. I was thinking about Obama proactively destroying society and fostering a new dark age the whole time (all envisioned in comic book panels), all he has to do is irreparably sink the economy in four more years and then go his merry way.

GIJames248

Good point?

What he said goes for every president.

Him (and you) thinking that Obama is terrible isnt a point. Its an opinion, until it is substanciated.

I didn't say that Obama is the only shortsighted and self-centered president we've had; he's certainly not. I do think Obama, by either malice or ignorance, has a lower view of liberty than most presidents though, and that is very dangerous to the individual.

:roll: Thats rich coming after Bush Jr. that condoned and allowed torture, and originally passed the Patriot Act..

That's easy. A conservative stands for personal liberty (glances at social stances of Republicans and the Patriot Ace). Ok, Ok, they're for conservative fiscal policies and balanced budgets (recalls Republican history with deficits). Hmmm.... I'm running out of traits... I guess they're for low taxes regardless of the consequences?

A conservative, in my book, usually just refers to anyone who's somewhere between economic center-right and economic libertarianism. Personally, I'm a social libertarian and somewhat economically conservative (the latter of which may or may not really come across from my posts).

Republicans, on the other hand, tend to be socially conservative and fiscally irresponsible.

Chuck Norris lost his mind a long time ago. His sanity was replaced by an oversized ego back in the 80's when he came out with his cartoon.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vybSGMkqWbQ Chuck Norris: Karate Kommandos. They say his name like 8 times in the intro, not counting the other instances of just "chuck"

I like the old GOP, before it was ok for moose hunting morons to be considered for VP, and for the rich to just have total control over everything. It kind of makes me understand the appeal of the Tea Party and Libertarianism, the whole group is just so fractured because people can't even agree amongst themselves unless they're all on the far end of it.

That's what I appreciate about Obama willing to work together with Republicans and Bill Clinton's speech on everyone working together to make a better America.

People fail to realized that the economy and country was in really, really, bad shape before President Obama even set foot in the white house. Its your fellow retard republican Bush who was jerking off for 8 years and spending trillions of wars etc. I don't think anyone could clean up all the mess Bush left behind in 4 years. Has the current President made mistakes, sure he is still human and to say he hasn't done ANYTHING in his four years in office is a retarded thing to say. So putting Rommey in office for the next four years with the same republican ideals that caused economy to crumble is a good choice. How is giving tax breaks to the rich helping the economy again??! O yea college students, Rommey said if you don't have the money to pay for school, borrow some from you parents........ YEA, and o yea Rommey said he and his family know who to work with African Americans his family owned slaves, yea he said some BS along those lines. Who the hell would vote for this guy?

Romney has actors (that act) endorsing him and Obama has politicians that endorse him... how desperate can Romney get I suppose Chuck Norris does live in a dream world as well as Romney.
