I am poor but my parents are 1%.

Im a stereotypical new yorker in the struggle. Poor and In Debt.

Well I am personally very poor being a college student but factoring in my parent's income I would probably be considered middle class

Just so you know TC most people will consider themselves middle class even if this is not so giving you some skewed data

I'm a full time commuter college student living in a house hold with a net income after taxes and debt payments of less 30K....

So yeah, poor.

My parents are fairly rich.

I don't have a job, but i'm not unemployed. I was fortunate enough to have earned and saved enough money in high school and early college years to be able to quit my job and take the entire school year off so i could take extra classes. When i graduate I'll have money in the bank and no debt which makes me better off than probably 90% of college students. I don't consider myself either of the three because I already have basically everything I want. I'm honestly thinking about building myself a tiny house http://tinyhouseblog.com/ and putting it on a small plot of land. If I can generate enough solar energy to power a small refrigerator and use a wood burning stove for heat and hot water, I believe I could live a comfortable life with an easy, low paying job and that is really all I want.

I can feed myself just fine.

I'm mostly happy with my financial status.

Poor.. living off pay check by pay check(short checks) kind of poor.

I am dependent off my parents and they are upper middle class.

me alone, im poor.

i still live with my parents who are a solid middle class. never really have to worry if they arent going to make their bills. still have excess money leftover after they have paid the bills.

dad gets paid well, put in 22 years in the air force, and now works as a contractor for the government or something like that.

mom works with a company similar to my dads.
