Guillermo Del Toro's Hellboy 1 and 2" The Golden Army were very underrated , excellent movies. Ron Perlman's finest ... imo.

Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen is expected to begin filming this September.

Are you interested in HELLBOY REBOOT OT? I know i'll watch it :)

No, because Ron Perlman pretty much looks like the comic figure. Noone can replace him as the role. Also, most people aren't even worthy standing in Guillermo Del Toro's shadow, very few could do the base material justice.

Hey if we talking reboots, i know one i'd like to see back on big screen which i still remember today, i saw it when i was 9, and dang was she fine. Sheena, the lady Tarzan.

As a tiny boy, man i was still diggin her, lol ..

Also Beast Master, that movie was sick back in the day.

Oh, and as for Hellboy, sure why not, i've enjoyed the series so far.

Not really, especially since they didn't conclude Del Toro's version. I didn't really like the sequel(Golden Army) but I was looking forward to the 3rd film.

Yea, didn't seem like it needed a reboot.

Not really, especially considering how badly Cruise's Mummy is doing... Reboots these days are almost certain to flop.

I was very fond of the Hellboy films as well (sorry, not familiar with the comics) and would have loved to see them continued in the Del Toro/Perlman way, but I am open to someone else giving them a shot.

With that said...I really don't like this whole "Hey let's do two or three movies then 'reboot' the franchise" deal that's going on so often now, specifically with comics. Why can't they plan on a six or seven movie deal and see it through to the end? It's really not good for continuity imo, you get attached or used to a certain style of direction or an actor's portrayal and then it's like "HAHA just kidding, we are changing it up and totally redoing the whole thing".

What if they "rebooted" Star Wars every two movies? Or Lord Of the Rings? Or Rocky?

OK bad examples....

I'm bummed that I never got to see the third film either, but what's the alternative here?

It's been ten years and Guillermo del Toro hasn't gotten around to making the third movie. Neither Hellboy movie did very well at the box office, and supposedly Del Toro wanted to go big budget on the third film and wasn't willing to settle on a lower budget.

And if we're being fair, Del Toro doesn't exactly have the greatest track record for finishing projects that he starts. **cough**The Hobbit**cough**

So, there are three options here.

1) No more Hellboy movies ever.

2) Give Guillermo Del Toro a shitload of money to finsih an trilogy which the last installment was made TEN YEARS AGO, and with both movies doing pretty crappy at the box office. And then hope that Del Toro actually finishes the movie instead of moving onto one of his shitloads of other projects instead.

3) Admit that the "current" trilogy is dead and has been for a long time, take the property in a different direction and reboot it as something that's hopefully actually going to make some money.

Again, I really wish I could've seen Hellboy 3, but Guillermo Del Toro had ten freaking years to find a way to do it. If it hasn't happened by now then face it: it's dead. So the only REALISTIC options here are to not do ANY new Hellboy movies or to get new people to do a different take on the material.

@MrGeezer:

Logically option 3 and you're correct about Del Toro and the other politics surrounding the franchise. But I was still hoping to see the 3rd film for closure.

It's not a reboot. It's just a sequel.

Are they running out of material? Hellboy 2 isn't even 10 years old yet..
