I'd have to disagree on the difference being minimal. Being able to see individual hairs on people's heads is awesome! No. The difference is minimal.

I've become spoiled. Now whenever I go see a movie in a theater, it looks like crap.Qixote
I rarely do, but when I do go to a movie theater I always go to the HD theater near me. It's called Cinetopia.
Not really as I watch quite a few very old movies of very questionable quality as sadly that is the best we can do at the moment and as a result I'm still rather fine with SD fuzziness. That being said I am becoming increasingly spoiled by HD sweetness after watching and increasing amount of cheesy films from the '60s, '70s and lately handful of silent films from the '20s the have impressed me to such a degree that I'm beginning to become disappointed when I can't watch silent film and be able to read all the posters and headlines of newspapers in the background or read the expression on bit players' faces.
Yes! Hdtv and hd cam, cant deal with crappy res picture anymore. Lil 40 inch samsung is enough for me.
Enjoying some good old Planet Earth, if only discovery channel still show these kinds of stuff.
Well first and foremost sport MUST be in HD, I really get turned off when it isn't. HD channels are pretty much non-existent in Australia's commercial channels (kind of like NBC) but the Pay TV channels seem to make up for it with a decent amount of HD content. As for the movies, well I just watched Source Code on Blu-ray and everyone's face was ... very detailed. It's just nice, I don't puchase or rent DVDs anymore, so I've pretty much converted completely.
I think the way it stands blu-rays and HD will eventually but slowly replace standard definition. It'll probably be another six years before most 1st world countries convert completely.
I like not-small resoultions. Resoulutions don't need to be specifically on or above the "HD" line. Still watch non-HD TV sometimes even if I could wait and get it on Blu-ray.
I don't have digital or satellite cable or another way of having HD TV shows other than discs, and for TV the difference between 720p and 1080p/i isn't huge to me.
I'll try to get the highest resolution I can in what I'm watching on a computer. My monitor is only 1680 x 1050 so I'm not too insistant on the highest resolutions.
It shouldn't be 'an'. :PMushroomWig
No. I don't see what the hooplah is over it. I still don't even have a HD tv yet mainly because my old SD one just refuses to stop working.
having a 32'' tv on my room, playing game in HD is ok but watching movies is a must. however my tv has 1 component input which is for my xbox but most of my movies are imports so no HD :x
60 inch....idk the name has a silver W on it.but for gaming hdmi all the way but with tv i can live without
But when you get to watch football in its HD glory and then have to go back, it suuuuuuuucccckkkksssss. After your SDTV goes kaput and you buy an HDTV, you'll see that I'm right. :PNo. I don't see what the hooplah is over it. I still don't even have a HD tv yet mainly because my old SD one just refuses to stop working.

I thought it was.
How so? The whole story was based around the idea that the human race is built to destroy, the movie is sort of a wake up call, even though most aren't perceptive enough to understand it.i was perceptive enough to see that it was dances with pocahontas with flashy effects.I still use my 27" SDtv in my room, play PS3, DVDs, free TV box(no cable). they dont look all that bad.. but I think Im gonna put it away. Im gonna put my 32" HDtv back in my room from the other room.. Im still gonna play PS2 games and DVD movies on the HDtv, coz they look better on HDtv. Im fine without bluray movies.
I've got a 32" sharp HDTV, but I'm fine with watching DVD's and standard def TV on it. I've only got about a dozen Blu rays and sure the picture quality is great, but up-converted DVD's look perfectly fine on it too. I never got HDTV from my cable company because their channel lineup is garbage and I only watch TV shows on the rarest of occasions anyway. Too many damned commercials.
I do love my hi-def video games on my PS3 though.
