In terms of potential, yes. Many people fail to meet their potential regardless of their sex or gender.
All men and women and intersex individuals should have equal rights and equal opportunities. What they do with that opportunity is up to them.

@uninspiredcup: "muscle=fuel"
What?
The more muscle you have, the more energy is required to keep and/or develop it. Men naturally have more lean muscle. And when purposefully developing it, generally go for a heavier mass.
@SUD123456: 21st century science tells me there are major physiological and psychological differences between men and women. Yes I am aware of monstrous women like Serena Williams out there. But if you really think we are equal in every way, ponder on this. In tomb raider, you use a female to kill men. No man had any issue with this. But if this was the opposite case, I don't think any man would play the game. Killing women virtually is worse than killing men virtually! Lol
@SUD123456: Btw food for thought, http://nation.time.com/2013/07/25/the-cowardly-push-to-get-women-into-combat/
@uninspiredcup: That doesn't explain why you equate muscle to fuel. Are you talking about eating their muscle?
The qeastion is answered. If you still don't understand, use google.
physical ability: generally no, each have own strengths and weaknesses
intelligence: generally yes but think differently
attractiveness: this is subjective, so no way to answer
Pretty much this. When it comes to importance to society, or worth, or worthiness of human rights and societal equality, there is no difference whatsoever, nor should there be, and pure equality necessarily must exist.
Physical Ability: Men are clearly the physically stronger and more athletic sex. There are a few exceptions, but they do not destroy the rule.
Mentally Ability: Equal, though there do seem to be some differences in how we think.
Attractiveness: Equal, though men tend to me more generous when rating the attractiveness of women than women are with rating men. This is probably because men are typically more sexually driven and usually have to do the approaching.
@Bubble_Man: I agree with you except the last part. Equally attractive? Have you not heard of the term "the fairer sex". Women have softer and finer features making them a better looking gender overall.
My opinion on this question is controversial and reflects my opinion on equality (or lack thereof) in general. I believe that an individual's behavioral patterns, physical capabilities, and intelligence are all determined by their genes and that this determination correlates with their gender and race (of course there exist anomalies). However, in regard to the specific question of whether there exist differences between males and females, consider the following: all major scientific breakthroughs have been made by males. If women were in charge, we'd still be in the Stone Age.

I certainly will not deny the beauty of the female form. However, that is not to say that men are ugly. Women go crazy over a guy with broad shoulders and a square jaw. Sculptors of the past often used the form of an athletic male to create beautiful statues that are still renowned until this very day. A man who has defined his muscles through rigorous training makes an impressive sight. As a straight male, however, I can certainly agree that women are more fun to look at from my own perspective. :P
@emil_fontz:
Well, considering women weren't allowed to go to college for a long time and still aren't in some places, that statement doesn't mean much. Says more about society than women's intelligence. You're also ignoring people like Dorothy Hodgkin and Barbara McClintock.

Most Engineers, Physicists, Computer Scientists, and Scientists are males. I rest my case.

Maybe it's this mentality that holds you back from finding someone, BRHD.

All males (of a certain group).

You can rest your case. Doesn't mean you've won it. In America men are falling behind women in GPA, college credit, and degrees earned. That's a fact. Funny how things change when there isn't a gender monopoly on higher education.

Men are falling behind due to other factors, not their innate levels of intelligence. When a female Einstein comes along, I'll change my mind. Also, the modern Western world is very sexist toward males. Examples are the following:
@silkylove: As a person from an asian country, the education in America doesn't really say much. Being really honest here. Actually a lot of my friends who moved there told me how easy everything is. Btw, I think maybe the reason is that American men waste too much time on porn or masturbation lol. Jk jk but still a possibility nonetheless.
Oh btw if you want a less troll answer. You have to understand the standard deviation of intelligence level in the sexes. Men are either at the very very top, or at the very very bottom. Women mostly are concentrated at the average to above average levels. This could perhaps be the reason for the gpa observed. Also women mature faster than men. But me personally, I like to attribute it to the fact that men spend to much time on porn nowadays xD

I'm talking about higher education. American grammar schools and high schools suck, but at the college and university level we are the best in the world. I happen to be a professor. I look around and I see that as a man, I'm in the minority. And of my students the majority of top performers are actually women. Figuring out how to raise the achievement level of male students has been a problem for a few years now.

In which fields of study have you made these observations? STEM fields?
I'm in the humanities. STEM field gains are not as drastic, but they still exist. It makes sense when you consider that women with a science or engineering degree make $58,000. Men make $91,000.
The fact that the differences you have observed in the academic performance between men and women have not been in STEM fields proves my point that women (on average) are not as intelligent as men. Men have more gray matter (on average) than women and are subsequently better suited for the more cognitively-demanding fields of study.

Do me a favor. Never go into social sciences, biology or anthropology. You methodology is shaky at best. First you cherry pick physical attributes. Then you cherry pick fields of discipline. Now you're cherry picking brain composition when we still know next to nothing about neurology. You remind me of a 19th century "scientist" using phrenology to justify white supremacy. By the way, while men have more gray matter on average, women on average have a larger and better organized frontal and temporal cortex. Food for thought.
The problem with this question is that people are confusing being equal as being the same. In this context, there's plenty of difference. Obviously, men and women have different physical attributes. At their absolute strongest, men will always have more raw power and speed, while women will be more flexible. Both sides have brains similar enough that any dfference would be considered academic, and both can achieve similar levels of intelligence.
The main difference between the two genders on a practical level, aside from the whole childbirth thing, is their perspective. Not just because of societal pressures, but simply the fact of not being able to 100% understand what it's like living as the other gender, women and men tend to have different ways of looking at situations based on their experiences. That doesn't mean women are all angels - Chancellor Angela Merkel and former Senator Hillary Clinton are a couple hardasses if ever there existed hardasses - but, like differences in class or race, the differences in gender and how they effect our lives will obviously shape men's and women's worldview.
Both, however, are able to take on any practical task given them, provided enough effort and opportunity. The problem is that culture, to varying degrees, will hamper women's potential through silly social mores. We've seen over and over again in the western world that, the more barriers are lifted, the more women are proven capable and valuable to any workforce.

How does that change what I said? You come off as a scum bag and yet you're surprised you're alone?

probably because we dont want to deal with the bullshit that is school and can get good paying jobs without it. school seems to be more of a socially advancing way to society, and thats all women are good for, using their mouth.
Women want equality when it suits them when it don't they like to play the card of being a woman. If a woman has the audacity to punch a man the man should have every right to deck her back. Women are manipulative they learn to use what they have to get what they want. Men are only weak when they let the little head in their pants do the thinking for them. Women want to be treated equal but 99% of the time courts will find in their favor when it comes to custody and divorce. The laws are written in their favor. My buddy won $50,000 at the casino 4 days before his divorce was final. He had to split the money with his wife even though they were separated for 6 months. I have a friend paying $400 a week in child support. His ex took him to court and complained to the judge she needed more money and that she needed a new car. She's never had a job all she does is leach off her new husband and ex. I know a few women that got knocked up so they could have a kid and get child support and welfare. They ditched the guys right after getting knocked up. My buddies sister told me the other day she's looking for a sperm donor and that she don't need a man. I had a girlfriend tell me once she was on the pill. I told her so what I'm still using protection I don't need any oops babies. I have better things to do with my money then to give half my paycheck every week to some wench.
if you are in a relationship because "you need someone" then i think that is the wrong reason to be in a relationship. relationships shouldnt be about needing someone, it should be about being with someone you love.

"school seems to be more of a socially advancing way to society"
^I'm not sure what that means. Is "society" like unlocking an achievement?
Men are better ..... stronger and more inteligent and can solves problm wt/out showing emo and stress ...
@silkylove: hmm interesting. However I don't think the gpa observed directly implies that women are more intelligent than men. It is more accurate to say that women take their studies more seriously than men or have a better attitude to learning whereas men are more willing to skip class and do their assignments at the last minute. And plus, we all know how degrees seem to not prepare us for the real world. I have no proof of this claim. Just a general observation. I'll let you know when I get my bachelor's degree in engineering 3 years later (God willing) :)
@BboyStatix: Physically. no
Intelligence, yes. But men tend to make more risks for good and bad because of the testosterone.
Attractivnes is subjective, but women tend to be looked to be more attractive by society
