Has anyone seen Iron Maiden live in recent year? What are they like and what is the typical audience age? Im going to see them in July and Im 20.

Yeah Iron Maiden's pretty good. Not seen 'em live. I'd say the audience could be anything from teenagers to old school metalheads (40-50 years old)

I saw them during the "Somewhere Back in Time" tour. They put on an excellant show and, unlike most rock bands their age, can still play. Typical audience age - judging by the show I went to I'd say it ranges from around 10 - 50 or so.
I love them, never forget when I saw them in Edmonton. It was a 4 hour drive from where I lived, we had seats about 7 aisles up from the stage just to the right of the stage. They put on a amazing show! Fear of the Dark and Run to the Hills were the best I remember. Like Worlock, I saw them during Somewhere Back In Time tour, so all greatest hits, none of the new CD plugging crap!
I saw their Somewhere In Time tour some years ago (OK back in the 80s after it came out) and it kicked butt. They still jam, but I couldn't tell you about the age range as it has been some time since I saw them. I will say that back when I saw Pink Floyd in Atlanta back in 94, there were 60+ year olds there.
I saw them in their 2008 tour called Somewhere Back in Time and it was amazing, mainly because it was like a greatest hits concert. They played all their best and most popular songs and some songs they hadn't played in years like Wasted Years and Rime of the Ancient Mariner.
I will be seeing them again next month but I'm not as excited, mainly because they are mostly playing songs from more recent albums (The Final Frontier, Dance of Death, etc.) However, those songs are still very good and I'm still looking forward to it. The show is always awesome, and I'm pretty sure Eddie will show up as always.
As for ages, I went when I was 17, so it was no big deal. People of all ages go see Iron Maiden.
I saw them last month and they were just as energetic as ever.
And, yeah, there will be a lot of people your age there as well as some of the older fans.
i've got more Iron Maiden songs in my ipod than anything else, with that said i've never seen them live
Iron Maiden is a band I've never gotten around to seeing live yet, either. Some day I must go to one of there concerts if they ever come back to my area.
