I'm looking to download some indie music now, I have some money. Anyone know any goof indie artist I could listen too?

Kind of hard to give an indie suggestion if you don't give some bands you like.
But Grizzly Bear, Matt and Kim, and Say Hi are some different styles that are all good.
No Age-Noise punk
Japandroid-Noise punk
Passion Pi-Disco punk
Los Campesinos-Twee
Deerhunter-Psych-pop
Grizzly Bear-rock
Also, good on you for buying music, its nice to see people who aren't criminals.
The definition of Indy gets me a little confused sometimes.
Friendly Fires:-Paris, Skeleton Boy(probably more electronic dance stroke pop)
Cooper Temple Clause: -Let's Kill Music, Blind Pilots(Probably more alternative rock)
Shiny Toy Guns: - Le Disko, Don't Cry Out(alternative rock that's more popular in the US but considered quite Indy in the UK)
Garbage: - Push it, (90's Indy)
Beck: - Loser, (Indy for sure)
Primal Scream: - Country Girl, Miss Lucifer. (popular UK Indy stroke alternative rock band in the past)
Travis: - Sing, Driftwood. (Indy)
Pheonix - 1901 (Indy?)
Feeder - Just a day, Sweet 16(Indy)
Check out the Why? album Alopecia. Im not really sure how to describe their music. Some of it borders on hip-hop...but not really.
Here is a shorter song from them.
Edit: just realised how old this thread is. Nvm.kamikaze_pigmy
Crap not again, I'm getting close to giving up on this board lol
Sunset Rubdown
Wolf Parade
Why?
The New Pornographers
Arcade Fire (they still indie? lol)
Andrew Jackson Jihad (my favorite :D folk punk can be indie, right? lol)

Evil_Saluki
the technical definition is any record released under an "independent" label, i.e. publisher, last time I checked.
With that said, in my opinion (some jerk jumped down my throat when I said this), there is definitely and indie "sound" to music. Whenever someone shows me a song, and I listen to it, and I go "hmmmm this sounds indie"I have been right about it.
Wolf Parade

That's it, I'm learning to dance like that. We got a place where I live that does that type of dance I seen them doing it, called Free****I believe. (Gamespot won't let me put the whole word in BAH!, it begins with S and it's another word for fashion.)

The New Pornographers - Use It
Detroit Social Club - Northern Man
We Are Scientists - Dinosaurs
Frightened Rabbit - Living In Colour
All Good bands. I just listed the band and my favorite song by them.
Two Gallants (I think What the Toll Tells is their best album)
Neutral Milk Hotel
Kevin Devine
Bright Eyes
The Decemberists
Freelance Whales
The Gerbils
Bad Books
Imogen heap, Pinback, Radiohead (within the last 4 years), Frou frou, Stars, MGMT, Of Montreal, Explosions in the Sky, Devics, Eisley, Sigur ros, Joanna Newsom, Modest mouse, and Sufjan StevensSpicy656You have a good list! :o I never EVER see anyone mention Devics! Underrated
Rogue wave is not enjoyable...Spicy656D: I think I'm one of the few who have enjoyed their last 2 albums.
