Another acid attack in pakistan(for looking at a boy)

It get's hard defending religion when things like this happen multiple times daily.

Of course, Pakistan isn't exactly a shining beacon of strong infrastructure that can actually regulate things like this.

People like this need to be strung up and shot

and no I'm not kidding. They don't deserve to sit in a prison cell for the rest of their lives, they killed their own child while using their religion to justify it, while at the same time saying it was "her destiny" These are narrow minded unintelligent bigots who don't deserve the air they breath. I'll never understand why society is so easy on these kinds of people.

948 honor killings last year. What can you say. Their own children for pete's sake.

If I was a judge in Pakistan I'd have them tortured. Turns out there are cases where torture is acceptable; this being one of them.

i would personally want to beat the fcvk out of the couple, sadly people will blame the religion that is followed by 1/4 of the world, and not pakistans culture.

Maybe if they were just trying to scar her body to make her unappealing... But they said right from the start they wanted to kill her... That just seems absurd.

But then again I believe all religion is absurd so I guess this fits right in.

I've noticed that too it always seems to be acid used in Pakistan particularly.

I ever have to go to Pakistan I'll wear some kind of protective helmet lol.

However Islam DOEScall for the death of those who leave the religion, it DOES call for violence against any person or ideology that is potentially subversive to the religion, and it DOES promote a concept of honor that undoubtedly motivates the perpetrators of these killings.

Islam didn't even exist until the 7th century, and wasn't big until hundreds of years later... Yet they are held to the same standard it took Christianity 2000 years of bloodshed to reach.

Not that I am defending Islam, I feel all religion should be wiped from the face of the Earth... But prior to the 20th century, internal Middle East had almost no western influence... There was some on the periphery (Istanbul, Cairo, etc) and at trade ports, but within those countries Islam and Shar'ia flourished... And continues to do so in many places...

Not to mention most practices of Islam exist just the same in Christianity and Judaism, but have since been cast aside because of reform, education, technology (things that are nonexistant in many regions of the Middle East)...

Sometimes I wish we could just smack some sense into maniacs like these parents, but it doesn't work like that, and it's too late for these two idiots and their innocent victim. There are people across Pakistan working to change attitudes. It's a stubborn mindset that won't disappear overnight no matter what, but bit by bit it has to die out.
