Hello guys I am 17 years old and I am now entering college, I am like "starting a new phase on my life" and I would like to start wearing suits (it's actually a thing I have been loving to do for some time ago).
What do you suggest guys?

lol you are entitled to wear whatever you want but it will likely look rediculous. And most kids think it's cool to dress up until they start doing it regularly (ie: a job). Then the magic of a suit wears off fast.I like to be well dressed and a t-shirt and jeans just don't fit enough for me.

[QUOTE="Ricardomz"]Nothing wrong with wearing a collared dress shirt to class, a full suit with a tie & jacket is a bit much though. This. Maybe when you get to Business or Law school you can go all out.I like to be well dressed and a t-shirt and jeans just don't fit enough for me.

Thinking it's stupid to wear a suit to class doesn't make you a hater...Don't let the slobs deter you. Â Good fashion sense nowadays is underrated. Â If you want to wear a suit fine, you will stand out a bit in it but haters gonna hate.
Maybe get a nice hat to go with it.Â

I'm not buying a fedora. Ok I get your point, I'll think about it. Thanks for your opinions.

You're still going to wear a suit to class, aren't you? :P lol, I think he will but some people need to learn the hard way. After his 1st day of college he will probably quit, I just hope he doesn't waste money buying something like 5 suits he won't wear after the 1st day.
The dude is talking about wearing suits to class, I don't think debt will be a problem. You're going to college at 17? Have fun with debt.

How do you know he's paying for it?[QUOTE="GOGOGOGURT"]

I'm being stereotypical here, don't ruin it for me.
Even a blazer would look weird on campus. I'm sure if he's attending Harvard, Oxford, or Princeton he'll fit right in.[QUOTE="ferrari2001"]Casual suit is the way to go. Button up shirt with a blazer and no tie. Do that and you're looking classy. cain006
I've seen guys in college that wear suits,it's not unheard of. One instructor as this guy in a suit if he was going anywhere, he said no, he just liked dressing like that. Just do what you want TC.bobaban
Yes, the goddamn business and law students that are forced to wear them.

I have a friend going to Cornell and of the pictures I've seen everyone just dresses in jeans and t shirts like most college students.[QUOTE="ferrari2001"]Casual suit is the way to go. Actually no, I wasn't referring to them. Did you read the rest of my post? It's weird.relaxAlso, in college, I'd say anything more than basketball shorts, a tshirt and flipflops is overdressed when the weather is still warm.

College is the last time in your life when you can dress as dumb as you want and nobody will bat an eye.
No but it's not necessary and inappropriate for school (unless some project requires it). Wear a suit for formal events, funerals, or job interviews but for college? If you want to dress nice for college, wear khakis and a collared t-shirt and make sure it's comfortable especially during the summer. Other reason not to war a suit is due to the heat.
Also, there are different types of suits each suited for a different situation which you should look up on Google. You're not too young to wear a suit but it's not appropriate unless the situation warrants it.
