Well, I saw it for the fourth time today, first on blu-ray. And I can never discuss this movie with anyone because I don't know anyone else that saw it. So lets discuss, this was the BEST movie I have ever seen. It was amazing, what a great concept. I think it's so cool his whole life and everything he has been through gives him the answers. I absolutely love this movie, what about you guys?

I thought it was one of the best films of the year. No where near the best film I've ever seen. I think it's Danny Boyle's best work.

It was a good movie, but nothing too memorable to me. It was overrated in my opinion. Maybe I would like it better if I saw it again; perhaps I'll rent the Blu-Ray now that it is out.

It's so overrated. But, whatever I haven't agreed with the academy's choice of Best Picture for a while now.

I don't think it was overrated at all, it was a great film. And didn't No Country for Old Men win best picture last year? If it did I also thought that was a pretty good movie.

I thought it was excellent. I have a question though, was there that big of a difference with PQ with the blu-ray and DVD versions?

Big letdown. I don't get why it won so many oscars. Benji Button was largely superior.

I loved it, regardless of the controversy over compensation and the portrayal of Indian culture.

Well I always prefer blu-ray, I need the best quality and in my opinion it is the best way to watch any movie. So I would say blu-ray is the way to go, looks and sounds much better ;)

I enjoyed it, but the way his life story fit into the questions seemed really contrived. I realize it was key to the story, but I don't think it worked particularly well. I'm probably alone, of course, as the movie did win best picture. Then again, so did Shakespeare in Love and Crash. All of them seem to strike the right chord of pacing and various emotions in an Academy-friendly way. I strongly believe that few people will remember Slumdog Millionaire in two or three years. The bit where he jumped into the puddle of crap was pretty awesome, though. Best part of the movie. Also, the girl who played the grown-up Latika is hot.

When telling my friends about this movie I had to say their was a hot indian in it so it would spark their attention, because you don't see hot indians everyday

I thought it was the best film when I first saw it, then I went to watch City of Gods, Oldboys, Memento and the Wreslter. Those films help put things in prepective and I realised Slumdog Millionaire only the best film in 08

I actually thought the Wrestler was better than Slumdog, but Benji trumps them both.

it was simply the best movie of the year and thats coming from somebody who really believed no movie was going to top TDK (not overated btw) however it was not the greatest movie I have ever seen but that doesnt mean it wasnt great. Also I thought the love story managed to stayaway from all the usual cliches.

I agree. You can not compare those two films. Slumdog good but not great. I don't see it being in many best films of the decade/ever discussions in 5-10 years.

The problem with it was, there were too many bad guys to focus on that it took you away from the main love story.. It didn't leave a big impact on me because I wasn't connecting with the main character and his love. That is one reason why I think of this movie as average.

Completely overrated and dull. I don't consider staring into space with a deer in the headlights expression to be good acting. That's all the adult actor did 90% of his screen time. The only time he even really showed any emotion at all was at the end dance. It drove me absolutely nuts. Maybe he was trying to express his traumatic childhood with his thousand yard stare, but it was still terrile.

I really enjoyed it, it was one of the best films I saw last year (I did enjoy The Orphange and The Dark Knight more though) . It's far from the best film I've ever seen though. I'd agree that it probably is overrated.

It's good, but I don't think it's close to being one of the best of movies of last year. I can think of at least 5 movies that were released last year that were much better than Slumdog.

Poor movie if you ask me. It displayed a cheerful, colorful side of poverty, which isn't the case. Giving hope to people, ok, but this movie exaggerated.

Gran Torino didn't have the whole package to win best film, neither did Slumdog. I think it should've been between The Wrestler and Benji Button.
