2015 OTcars discussions UPDATED (Dave Host)

My favorite one among that section is Creepy McCreepson. :P So far it looks like Jankarcop's gonna win that. :P

In the past this has been a two step process. Where we nominate and then afterwards the host cuts noms based on some cutoff number for the catagory. After that there is a second thread with the categories and the list of nominees. people would then vote out of those nominee's.

I wonder how this will work this year since it is a smaller community. Will probably still have a voting thread and keeping all nominees this time around. Hopefully people will find the voting process quicker since they just have to delete names off of a filled put list, so more people could vote.

I actually find this fun but Dave's categories were overwhelming to me but still, I did my best to fill in the categories and I find it somewhat fun even though I won't win that much.

Dying Light is okay so far, it's nothing like Dead Island but I haven't gotten far into the game but I can tell you is that, it's Dead Island meets Mirror's Edge cause you will be doing a lot of running and garbing into ledges. By the way, isn't this the day that Otcars thread will be lock today?

Ahhh, i lost interest in Dying Light after Techland's Dead Islandseries. Glad to hear its parkour action adventure and completely different from Dead Island games.

No idea about OTcars, Korvus and Dave knows about it well :)

I wasn't much of a fan of Dead Island, but I absolutely love Mirror's Edge, so we'll see. Thanks for the initial impressions =D

Yep, need to ask Dave what time he wants me to lock the thread. If my calculations are right it's at 2am for me XD

@davillain-: I will buy Dying Light on a discount. Is the game tense and the atmosphere dark and post-apocalyptic like the devs were hoping for? I sure hope so.

Well yes and no. during nightfall, seeing is hard, there are a lot of zombies during the night, and from what I can tell, crafting weapons is limited. The zombies are to me are dull, I'm talking about there designs and they all look the same and Dead Island zombies does it better.

He also hates anime.

Oh good to know. I guess I won't mind that much when I do play it if the whole package is decent overall.

This is my first time voting for an OTcars. I have not ever been a fan of the NOTCars and I feel there was too much attention given to them in past years, but this year is okay.

I dislike him even more now, lol.

If you mean the nominations list being too long and there being a high amount of empty slots, then yeah. But I'm still glad we're having OTCars, and it still looks like its going better than last year.

Also, not sure when voting round is gonna begin, so far it looks like Dave ran into more unexpected business, where it may take a while now.

Dave will have the final nominees for each category by Monday. So around the beginning of next week shit will get real. :P

This is the first time I've participated in the OTcars...what's the next stage?

A certain number of nominees(based on this phase that just ended) will be revealed for each category and then people will have to vote for one of them.

@johnd13: So something like "Users A B and C got nominated for category X. Which one is your favourite?" kind of thing?

@johnd13: Not sure if I like that. It's one thing to say "I like this, this and this user", another is to have to choose "which one is best"...don't think I'll be participating on this round.

@korvus: You're worried of expressing favor for one over another aren't you?

If that's the case, it's no big deal we're all grownups here. For example, if you vote for indz and not me for a category, I won't be devastated I assure you. :P

@johnd13: I know, but it doesn't agree with my personality. That's also the reason why I left most of the "bad categories" empty.
