D'awwww I expected more from Giantbomb. Don't know why but it seems american reviewers are very big on having a sandbox game. They rate games like GTA and Skyrim and Fallout 3 extremely high forgiving them any faults, but with Zelda a slow start or having similar characters to other Zelda's can already put a dent in the score.

I'd like to know...

Some of these ratings are disgraceful. An 8? Are you kidding? and this is from sites that gave that buggy mess of a game skyrim a 10. I can't see how an artform like Skyward Sword gets hounded for being repetitive, whereas skyrim is praised for it's incessantly repetitive combat system, bugsand graphics that didn't really live up to what was hyped. It's typical that they see the linear nature of Zelda to be a downside, whereas it makes for a much more interesting, action packed and story oriented than an open world game where the story is lost amongst side quests, the action is reduced from trying to figure out where you are supposed to go next, combat is reduced to an eventual nuisance that was simply stopping you from advancing and the enemies got tiresome and repetitive after only a few hours. Needless to say I'm vastly disappointed

Hey guys, I as big a Zelda fan as anyone, but lets remember that reviews are opinions and everyone is entitled to theirs based on their individual tastes.

And ultimately, reviews and awards mean nothing. Citizen Kane lost the best picture oscar to How Green is My Valley... and Crash won a best picture too. What lives on in the public's mind after years of hindsight and what gets the short term glory based on current trends are very differnent things.

I think we can all agree that there is way too many good games out this season.

Agreed. Their point about the motion controls was a big "WTF?" moment for me. For years the Wii has been smashed for the waggle and gimmick of motion controls, Skyward Sword offers a bit of precision in it's combat and the remote "follows you too well." Lol to each his own I guess.

So far the best review has been 1Up IMO. I think that is generally the best idea of the game I'm going to get. They gave it 83.

Giantbomb's review was terrible. Could care less about the score. The whole logic of his review and how he comes to like or dislike aspects of the game is horribly skewed.

It sounds like he was a Zelda hater to begin with. It's that bad.

Honestly I have zero interest in the Zelda Series but I want to see this game perform very well! It'll show that the Wii still has some life left in it!

It's hard to mimick any kind of schizophrenic actions, especially when he crosses the Wiimote and nunchuck. This isn't a waggle game, nor is it designed like one. Only idiots are going to play like he did.

Can't tell if trolling or just very stupid. Their reasons for taking a full star away from Skyward Sword were almost the exact same bad points of Uncharted 3, which managed to still score 5/5, along with Skyrim, there are some points in that review that they make that really should have stopped it getting 5 stars, either way, I'm very disappointed with the review because it simply looks like flamebait.
