A couple things:

I wonder if the Pro Controller will be included with the console or if that's something you have to buy separately.

Can you use the screen (without controllers attached to it) as a tablet to surf the internet and use apps?

When using two tablets, it seems like you can play wireless multiplayer with a friend.

@Tonindo: Not too sure, couldn't tell from the trailer, I don't even think was touch screen. Well have to do more digging. Loving the console though and can't wait to preorder it. Not sure if have to preorder both or can just preorder the handheld, who knows.

Nvidia just confirmed it's one of their devices which is pretty awesome.

@iandizion713: Oh, yeah, they didn't actually show it being a touch screen. But it has to be, right?

@Tonindo: I'm not sure, but it might not be. They might be trying to separate themselves from phones, tablet, etc. Would ha e to check the video again and see if has a stylus attached or something, all I saw was remote control. But it could still be touch screen, just you'd think they'd show that off.

Also, if you watch trailer again, there are two screens. One small one while dude is sitting playing Zelda, then he unhooks it, gets up, and attaches it to a bigger screen. Maybe you can use this thing with phones? I'm not sure, I'm guessing they will give more info to help keep hype going strong.

The girl playing Mario does the same e thing, she goes from small screen, then hooks up big screen. Also on hers you can see it still uses Amiibos from the trailer. I think Nintendo has secrets all over this trailer.

@KBFloYd: O I see now, it's not a screen, it's a spacer in one of the control methods. I thought it was a smaller screen.

It's a good concept, but like the WiiU I hope it's more than just an idea, I hope it's built for gamers in mind.

If it won't play WiiU games, hope it plays DS and 3DS games.

Make the price fair.

Hope the controller(s) are comfortable.

And in handheld form, hope it has decent battery life. No less than five hours.

@RSM-HQ: I dont think it'll be BC at all. Would help make it cheaper. Might not be BC with Wii U since it don't read disc. But you never know.

@iandizion713: True but I saw cartridges, so if it plays DS and 3DS games on my television I won't complain lol.

To be honest I prefer my handheld library over what I got on WiiU.

@RSM-HQ: Yeah, I just don't think it will. The resolutions don't work as good. I'm sure the screen will be 1080p, which would stretch the smaller resolutions of DS and 3DS games a lot. Plus would increase the cost.

Also the fact a lot of them games are touch, stylus, dual screen. This makes it ever harder to do.

Now I'm sure digital games will carry over though since they're tied to your account. But physical games aren't tied to your account, so it's too hard to carry over.

But you never know, they might do DS, 3DS, or both. I just wouldn't bank on it. Nintendo most likely wants to start fresh this time.

@iandizion713: True about the resolution, yet maybe I'm just one of those people that wouldn't mind a blown up DS/ 3DS games. On Playstation devices we already get that with PSOne games.

And honestly have no issue with it being a bit blurry or ugly to todays standards. Knowing they may let me take my 3DS on the go and possibly continue it on the home Switch station gives the whole handheld to console more meaning, assuming the Switch has bad battery life.

But this is me overthinking it. Probably won't happen, but would be nice :)

@RSM-HQ: Yeah, but like I added, you still have to worry about touch, stylus, and dual screens. plus it would make the console cost more.

But yeah, it would be cool if they could get it to work smoothly.

No, the pro controller you have to buy, only the joy cons come with the box. That's very disappointing to me.

my initial disapointment was like a 7 out of ten...

but now that i have processed it.... im hype for it now...

the mario game looks a bit cartoony with smooth textures like mario 3d world vibe. so i am a little let down by that.

need to see more of the game though.

Just Guessing but it seems the base unit is One Tablet, 2 mini detachable controllers, One Pro Controller and the Docking\Charging station. Coolyfett is not quite understanding why the controllers come off if there is a Pro Controller. time will tell.

as i mentioned in another thread.

as an upgrade to the wiiu its a bit meh. its not going to be a huge horsepower jump and its basically doing the same thing as the wii u in reverse. its a bit of a side step rather than an upgrade.

however as an upgrade to the 3DS its absolutely fantastic.

its library will also be the combination of the wiiu and 3DS library in terms of style and variety which i think will make for a very strong system. pokemon, monster hunter, tales, xenoblade, mario games, zelda, metroid, and who knows what else...all on the one system and it gives a choice of playing them on the telly or on the go (so people looking for the console pokemon RPG...done and done).

its not going to get much the the way of multiplats and, outside of whatever deals nintendo makes, i suspect western 3rd party support will dry up pretty soon after launch. but support from japan should be strong.

@iandizion713: Not sure why you think they'd be separate. People had this same misconception with the WiiU gamepad. At least this time, the gamepad isn't 100% dependent on the console, but I still can't imagine any reason whatsoever they would be separate.

@RSM-HQ: The Switch's games will be on cartridge, so that's most likely what we were seeing. I'm pretty sure they've said the 3DS isn't going away, so I'm not sure this would play 3DS cartridges. I'd happily be proven wrong, but I don't think so.

I can't imagine why it wouldn't be a touchscreen. They probably didn't demonstrate it because everything's a touchscreen today. The detachable controllers do look a little small, especially when holding with two hands like some of the scenes in the video. I'm betting 3rd party peripherals will come out in a variety of forms if you don't like the standard controllers. I'm also betting old controllers will be compatible.

For people saying it's not going to be a big jump in power, I'd look at the fact that this is basically a console made, in large part, by Nvidia. It's all custom hardware and software from the ground up, built by Nvidia to take advantage of a custom version of one of their newest GPUs.

"NVIDIA gaming technology is integrated into all aspects of the new Nintendo Switch home gaming system."

Yeah it's basically a controller dock to attach the 2 side controllers and act like a more standard controller. I like the idea, but it looks like it's a little oddly shaped being square.

so do you think we'll get that thingy that the joy-cons attach at the beginning of the vid to in box. I guess we can call it a joy-con dock, if so I'll just buy one pro controller for starters
