[QUOTE="Scythes777"][QUOTE="Dymond7"][QUOTE="Scythes777"]AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO WAY!! sorry but this better be true. Square owes us thisSpektre41
Ok, first of all, Square doesn't owe you anything, all it's been doing is releasing one of the best RPGs of all time (and up to this day I never played an FF game) I can't wait for this one though, I want to see what's so great about this RPG, It just seems like its on everyone's favorite top 10 games list.
Ok if u never played the game then why are you saying that square doesnt owe US this. First off it seems that they have completely ignored the fact that this games has such a big fan base and they wont even make a new one (though that could be because it would be quite difficult to get the original team back together) but all they have been doing is milking the FF series to no end while completely ignoring the popularity that this game has gotten. The last thng we got was a rerelease of the original game with some new cutscenes along with a FF game (4?) and a sequel called chrono cross. Chrono cross pretty much had very little in common with trigger and it really didnt deliver the same greatness as trigger.(it was still a great game though) Even when fans pushed for a new game, square quickly shot them down by threatening them and ever ince then we havent heard a word of a new game even though trigger was better than any FF game. Now I definetely think its time they at least port the game hopefully with updated 2D graphics to make it feel like the original. They better not do it in 3D like FF3 and 4 because i would rather take great 2D over crappy 3D graphics.
But, how does Square owe us this game? If anything, we owe them a truckload of love and cookies for resurrecting this classic.
Did yuo read his entire post? He has already answered your question. When a game is highly successful, remakes or sequels usually follow. I agree that Square has milked the Final Fantasy series to no end, and seeing how us gamers have made them rich buyingh all those games, yeah, they owe us this.
It's officially a slightly-enhanced port, like the GBA games:
Official Press Release.
New Stuff:
-- Taking advantage of the Nintendo DS hardware, CHRONO TRIGGER makes its
way onto the portable platform with all-new dual screen presentation and
Touch-Screen functionality
-- A brand new dungeon and a Wireless Play mode adds exciting new
dimensions to this timeless c1assic.And there's a new dungeon planned as well.Bio_Spark
Kind of disappointing imo. It will be interesting to see what price tag they put on it.
According to rpgamer chrono trigger will be out this christmas. If that is true then that will make my year.

I wonder what they are going to do with the touch screen...
I'm excited. I never got to finish this game.

lol thanks for getting my point across. Anyways im glad they are keeping it the same now. changing it could completely ruin the masterpiece. Also hopefully sometime in the near future and since square is in the remaking mood...square will decide to make a sequel or at the least remaster Chrono Cross for the PS3
Stupid question. Is it possible people will lower the prices on the SNES version on websites such as eBay, Amazon, etc since this will be a much more convient way for people to play it?esb1118
If so it would only lower prices by a little. Chrono Trigger for the SNES is extremely rare, hence its high prices. A DS version of the game won't make SNES copies any less rare. In fact, it may get a few more video game collectors interested in the game, causing the prices to rise. I guess it's too early to call.
Really... couldn't they make a sequel instead?
Anyway, as long as it doesn't have a high price I may end up buying it...

There was going to be a sequel to chrono trigger and then square soft decided to stop production on the game.
Chrono trigger
CHRNOOOO TRIIIGERRR!!! W00T!!
fap fap fap fap fap fap YES!!! This is AWESOME news, you can check me at launch :-). I played a bit of CT and thought it was a great game. The battle system was my favorite part, because I wasn't having a random battle, going through screens. No, this was instant. Younger gamers, get this game. You will love it, and if you don't you have a bad taste in games. Or it's your fault. I also like the battle system in TWERY, they both fell somewhat like the same game. Somewhat.
This is a great week in announcements, Diablo 3 and Chrono Trigger DS! W00T!

Chrono trigger
.... thats not the sequel and it wasnt even by square enix.
That was a full scale remake.
Chrono Triggers actual sequel (or spiritual sequel) was a text adventure by the name of "Radical Dreamers".
Google it.

I did not say square enix I said square soft. I already know about radial dreamers but I forgot about that. Not like it matters you really think square enix would put that game out.

I meant to put Square soft but accidently put SE, my mistake. And I was just pointing out that there was a sequel, not that SE should rerelease it.
Sweet... Now I can see what all the fuss is about. This game and Super Mario RPG - yes, that's right... SMRPG - are two games I never got a chance to play and I'd like to see why this game is so grand. :) Can't wait for it... I hope I don't regret saying that. :P Nice find.ZumaJones07
Hmm, now that CT going to DS, maybe Mario RPG has some hope too!!!

It is okay we all make mistakes. Even if they did rerelease it which is highly unlikely. Since square enix has stated they are not going to be touching there old games it really does not matter. I wish they would because a lot of their old games are really good games.

I have never played those games either. I didn't realize how big this announcement was.
