those are some nice characters models.

I dont like the style. Ill be straight to the point. It fit the much more lighthearted FFIII but for FFIV-its too childish for as dark a story as FFIV did have at point (I think it STILL holds the record for most character deaths out of the series)...the characters now look like kids. at least the old battle sprites they looked older. t hey looked mature. im afraid of what Edge is going to look like...Cronaroth
True...but at least the sprites ARE taller than in FF3 DS, where they just looked like little 10 yar old kids
I personally don't think they look any more childish now than they did in chibi sprite form. Cecil looks more brooding now, Rosa looks more troubled now, if anything, they express their character emotions better this way.
those screens are touched up, theres jaggies for sure.snakeofsolid
Yeah, no DS game can be that clean.
Yes, I love looking at these screens. I'm sure this is gonna be an awesome game. HOpe it doesn't take forever to release the english version.

The jaggies are usually less noticable on a DS screen than they are in a true-screenshot. I kinda prefer it this way, as straight-from-DS screenshots tend to look horrific and pale on PC monitors, albeit they look great and fine on the actual system.

Yes, since 16x16 sprites so suited IV's "dark" (the hell?) story. And let us not forget VII's LEGO people! How in the world did that fit VII's dark story? Honestly, get over it. This style is alright for IV, kinda like it was for all FFs until VIII just had to come along and change it. And I don't know if you know, but if you compare these character models to III's... You'll notice they are taller and more realisticly shaped (besides the head). Reminds me of IX and since IV and IX are pretty similiar, I don't see that as a bad thing. When I look at these screens, I don't see, in any way, how these characters look like kids. Rosa being the prime example. Compare Rosa's model to Refia's or even Aria's for that matter (they are pretty close in age). Rosa doesn't look like a kid, sorry.
I know each can prefer his style, but these character models are certainly an improvement over III's and deny it as much as you want, up until VIII, chibi/deformed characters was the route FF took when it came to its character models/sprites. I believe there are more FFs without realistic character models than there are with realistic character models. So no, I really don't see how this doesn't fit, since it has almost always been this way, sorry.
BTW, not to burst your buble, but IV did not have the most character deaths since, well, only one (playable) character really died. =/
So freaking awesome....man I want that game like now!Click here to see the HOTTEST game coming out this year hands down! Vegetaxxssj4
DAMN STRAIGHT DQMJ IS GONNA BE THE BEST HANDSDOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

True, but then you have to remember that when you are playing the screensize and pixeldepth make things looks much smoother. Just look at Chocobo Tales for instance. It looks very clean.
if jessica alba and scarlett johanson were to magically combined into one, she still wouldn't be hotter than this
and if you guys think either one of them is ugly, then f#%& you
Way better than Final Fantasy III...waaaaaay better.
I like seeing developers improve upon their engine and it looks like this team who's behind these DS remakes are finding ways to use the DS's power in many ways.
Man, I just can't wait for FFVI! I hope that gets a remake as well!
