Title.
So, if Nintendo makes a new handheld, how you imagine its name will be?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
Who cares about the next handheld? This one just stated spitting out out it's best (third party) games in 2008 an I was unlucky or dumb enough to buy nearly 80 games for the DS. But for the sake of the thread, if it is not backwards compatible it should be called The Nintendo Killer.
Nintendo DSj. This will continue until we reach the DSz. Then the apocalypsecomes and everyone hides in the bunkers; trying to decode survival tips embedded into each lettered DS before thebombs impact the Earth...
PROJECT AQUARIUM seriously, nintendo consoles first come with a ridiculous project name (remember dolphin? ) and then the real name. in the end the project name was just something a drunk employee shouted at the new year party.BrunoBRSI thought that was the name of the GPU or something... Anyway, I think it's gonna be called the WiiP(Wii Portable).

Nintendo Locus It works with DS,GB,GB Color, and GBA games.SlykReviewin
I like the name. I doubt all that will happen.
I picture it being like the DS, except with tilting action! For driving games and stuff.
Possibly: There could be a motion sensing stylus too, that you wave, just like the Wii Remote.
I think this would be amazing!
Edit: Also, Nintendo! If you see this! Go ahead and steal my idea, because it's amazing!
I couldn't care less what the next Nintendo handheld will be called or when it comes out. I'm enjoying my DSi too much.
i thought that the gba was motion sensative as in, it knows what angle it was held at.
it was shown in warioware twisted, right?

That had a sensor built into the game though.the nintendo hybrid, however, capcom should release one too called the PET O_Oblueb0mber16they have a toy like this... it sucks almost as much as that digivice (or whatever that digimon thing is called) with a pet digimon inside >_>[QUOTE="swrdof1000trths"][QUOTE="BrunoBRS"]apparently most people arent that creative and are just adding more and more screens... @awssk8er - motion/tilting like the iPhone would be interesting. as for a stylus that works like a wiimote, dont you think it would be rather hard (and awkward) to use it? yes or they are just coming up with names based off Street Fighter street fighter names are fun :P seriously, super II turbo HD remix in the same name?

LOL! XD
[QUOTE="BrunoBRS"]i got info from a very reliable source telling that the next handheld will be called-- *gets shot in the head*giga_yetiShe was about to say that the name of the next Nintendo handheld will be-- *Gets stabbed in the back by Reggie*
I see some cross-gendering here...:P
well DS code name was Nitro (could've ended up Game Boy Nitro, Game Boy Touch just sounds like a sex offender handheld)
DSi was code named Twilight (last iteration of DS so it means in its Twilight Years)
i'd expect a new handheld by 2011, if not announced fall 2010 to further counter the huge popularity of the iphone
i wouldn't be shocked if it had skype, or phone functionality, nintendo has said they want to make the DS more of an everyday device, not just for games, clearly more aimed at smartfones and all in one devices that do pictures, games, video, music, and make calls
i dunno if they willl keep the DS name though, maybe have it two screens but more swivel like a side kick (and a second screen where the Side kicks's QWERTY keyboard is)
How about Nintendo DSe, Dual Screen Evolved? or Super Nintendo Dual Screen (SNDS) DSone (all in one device) DS2 would be silly and unimaginative, DS Advance? nah too old skool
either way lame-o's will complain the next handheld doesn't have a slot for 2 gen old games, like GBA.
it will definetly more heavily feature downloadable content and games, maybe even have a games on demand service but will still work off of retail store releases
how about the DS-Suck it? Coz they release it with crappy hardware and still sell millions and tell all us gamers to suck it? nah jk
Whatever it is, i hope it has that nividia tegra (though i doubt it) since tegra is giving mobile computers and devices 100 hours + battery lives
my guess: they won't bring Game Boy back, DS brand name is too strong and Game Boy would alienate people into thinking its just for games, nowadays devices have to be for everyone, THATS IT! DSe, DS for everyone.
It will probably have a 2MP-3MP camera, hopefully 128MB RAM and 600Mhz CPU with 4-16MB VRAM. hey they can cram that much into an iPod touch for $150 and sell at a huge profit, nintendo could too by 2011
but knowing nintendo we'll be lucky if their next handheld even passes the PSPs specs let alone kept up with smartfones that are turning into tiny netbooks
[QUOTE="dsfanboy1"]no they aren't. they canceled it because the dsi is selling like hotcakesthey are working on ds2
giga_yeti
they cancelled its release. didn't scrap all the info, resources and hardware plans.
expect a new handheld to be annoucned as soon as late 2010, if they don't announce a Wii HD that is, i can't see them launching a new handheld and a wii upgrade at the same time
