I just got a pink DS Lite with Mario Kart. I do okay against the computer. But when I go online I get totally annihilated and always finish last :( I don't get it. Back in the SNES Mario Kart days I could have beaten anyone.

You're most likely being beaten by people called "snakers" who use a technique called "snaking".
