Finally: Wii Hard Drive

Our cries of woe have been heard: Nintendo is ready to release the solution to the Wii's lack of storage space. Manufactured by Maxtor, the Wii hard disk will have the following characteristics:

- 7200 rpm
- Built-in RAID 0 to achieve 88MB/s sustained transfer rates with FireWire800.
- 1-Click Back-Up software
- Standard connectors for FireWire and USB
- 512MB storage space

It just seems like something Nintendo would do. Like when your grandmother unwittingly bought you a Playstation game when you only owned an N64. She's all smiling at how happy she thinks you'll be, then "It's a good thought, and I still love you Grandma, but I can't really use this...." And her smile fades.

The specs may be real but if you had thought first why would an add on for the Wii have a Firewire connection? If anything you should have left that out and expanded the capacity a bit and held off on saying it was a joke, plus I can't actually believe people believed it even though you did say it was fake, and some people didn't even read the rest of the posts just thought it was real.
