Even though, Nintendo charges cheaper than other companies, $50 per game is still expensive. There are a lot of games which are interesting, but worth $50? No. There are interesting games, but they have no multiplayer and it leaves no room for creation or exploration. Games like that should be 20-30 dollars. Not full price. Games like Smash Bros. Brawl, I would pay $50 dollars on. But games like Metroid : Corruption and it's campaign ONLY feel, I wouldn't.

I don't mind paying 60 euros for a game but I do mind seeing weak ports on the shelves with a 60euro tag.

50 bucks isnt that bad... 20 years ago games were $50. $50 was a lot more money back then. If you dont want to pay the full price then wait 6-12 months for it to go down.

You could very easily say the same thing about any number of arbitrarily chosen XBox 360 and PS3 games and their $60 price tags. Hey, you could have said that about games on the PS2, Gamecube, Dreamcast, NES, or any other system ever released. The fact is these games get priced this way because people are willing to pay that much for them.

As for Metroid Prime 3, $50 is fine with me for a game that I plan on playing through at least five times.

Not to mention its was only 8 bit and not many games were good. 20 years ago zelda and metroid came out though. Dude, Metroid is gonna be full of exploration if you've forgotten, and I don't mind paying $50 for it. And here in canada, its probably gonna be more expensive cause its supposedly costs extra $10 per game to get it across the border. Even though both can and USA dollars are almost equal now.

Just wait for the games you don't want to pay full price for to go down to $20. I'm currently waiting for Trauma Center, Big Brain Academy, and Excite Truck to go down to $20.

Do you want them to make a little money so they can stay in business? Perhaps you want them to give them away and go out of business then there would be no games. I say if you dont like the prices then find a less expensive hobby. I am fine with it and will buy Metroid as soon as it comes out.

Dont tell me games are expensive. I buy games for my 360 and there 60.00$. When I buy a game for wii I usually only spend 50.00$. Now if I buy multiple games at a time then it adds up. Say if I buy 2 360 I will be spending $120 plus tax. If I buy 2 wii games then I would be spending about $100 plus tax. Thats a $20.00 price difference. With $20.00 I could buy a couple of vc games. So dont tell me you pay too much.

Yeah, the minigame compilations shouldn't be full price.

I'm not getting rayman for $50.

At lest prices have dropped over the years. I remember games on the snes costing $80.

Like someone said above, games were $50 back in the NES era... games should really be $100 now if the normalrules ofinflation were implemented.

Looks like gaming is more of a bargain than ever before... at least for Wii owners.

49.99 is last gen. Also game development costs have drastically risen. In the old days it cost like 25 bucks to make a video game cart.

Dam straight Mini compilations shouldn't be full price, unless they have like 200 minigames not mirco, and yeah try and tell me Excitebike was worth $50, back then it was so just be happy how big games are today and about your comment on MP3 it's worth every penny and I live i AUS so it will be $100 AUS and I'll still wont it on Launch because that Single will be great and probably 25-30 hrs long. And if you think MP3 is a rip what about Bioshock?

I agree gaming is an expensive hobby. I'm having trouble keeping $5 in my pocket without spending it on something for my Wii or DS. If you can't afford it don't play.

Games actually cost $60 on the NES. It wasn't until CDs became the standard format in the days of the Saturn and Playstation that games dropped to $50. So not only have games not gone up in price with inflation, they've actually dropped since the early '90s.

I know that some games are over priced, and are a waste of money. Which is why i go to gamestop and beat it in 7 days and get my money back or trade it in for another game.

Expensive games are a problem. And luckily there is a solution to it. Reviews. Now don't feed me that, "oh, well Ilike making decisions about games myself!! Reviewers suck!!". Look people, they don't put those numbers up there just so Zelda fanboys can whine about 8.8s. It's so that they can help people who aren't ready to invest fifty bucks on every single game they see. Reviews are buyers guides my friends, use them.Plus, you typically find big review website(especialy like the one we are on) are pretty on the mark when they do a review. And I mean read it, don'r just look at the number.

I know how to save you some money... wait a few mounts for prices to drop... or just don't play games... I think 49.99 is a fare price for games... 59.99 is another story... the only 360 game worth that price was oblivion... but that just due to the amount of content in this game.... I also have not paid full price for any 360 game other then oblivion... it's just not worth it to me...

Going to the movies costs at least $10.00, and only gives you 2-3 hours of entertainment. Going out drinking (assuming you're old enough), you can spend $30.00 or more, and get 1 good night out of it. Going to a major league Baseball/Basketball/Hockey/Football game can cost $50.00 (at least $100.00 for good seats...and I'm not including food/drinks etc.), and you get a few hours of enjoyment. Video games cost $50.00, and, depending on the game, can give you anywhere between 30-80 hours of gameplay. Do the math, it's not a bad deal.

Stop complaining. Videogame companies spend millions on making a game, it wouldn't make sense to charge us less.

I'd be glad games are still 50 bucks, like for 360/ps3 they're more, I mean the development process is exteremely expensive so they need to sell games that high to make money. Although I do agree that some "interesting" lower-depth games are DEFINITELY not worth 50, but 20-30. That's why I only buy the big AAA titles at 50, which is Brawl, Galaxy, and Prime 3( Prime is definitely worth 50, If you ever played a Metroid game before you know its a single-player game only, that part is amazing, and the mutliplayer is crap, Prime 2's and Hunters were pretty crappy)

But interesting "idea" games like NiGHTS, Umbrella Chronicles, Rayman, Dewy, Zack and Wiki, etc. I would never buy at full value for fear of not liking it, so that's when I wait until it's used at Gamestop for 20-30.

I really don't think that Wii games are expensive in general, except for the select few minigame games that cost 50 bucks. But I really don't like how Nintendo games barely drops the price of their games and sometimes stays full price after years of being released.

Also you can buy last gen games that are very fun for low prices. example: battalion wars for 10 bucks

The thing you have to consider is that people spend months and sometimes years making these games. There's a lot more to making a game than people think. A lot of math and a lot of creativity and a lot of nights away from home. So I think they have the right to price these games and become millionares. And we have the right to buy them or not to.

So you're saying you won't get Metroid because it doesn't have online mode? Dude, the only Metroid games that have had multiplayer are Prime 2 and Prime Hunters, and those weren't even that good to begin with.

and with two dollars to the pound you do the math :|

Exactly lol, no American has the right to complain about the price of anything; petrol/gas, electronic goods, property etc. it's all much cheaper in the states. And worst of all... they still sell Lucky charms over there!!

I wish i COULD by games for 50$. Pretty much everyone who doesn't live in the United States have to pay much more for the same games. Especially those who like me, live in a country that nintendo doesnt care about. thus making 75$ per game the average.
